Anyone know if nct's going ahead. Have one due tomorrow. Tried calling the number on the site but line is dead

All Galway NCT centres remain open with the introduction of specialised guidelines to help combat the spread of coronavirus.

In accordance with Government Covid-19 guidelines, only a certain number of people are allowed into waiting areas at a time.
I suggest to bring spray/wipes to wipe the steering wheel/dash/gearstick etc afterwards (although I am sure they wear gloves)

Not only afterwards but beforehand too.... we need to start thinking we (everyone) are potentionally spreading something even if we are ''ok''.

I booked my retest after failed lift inspection last Thursday, for Saturday 28th in Northpoint.

On Friday I got a text that the test must be cancelled & conducted at a later date.

I've sent 3 emails but no response. I'll ring tomorrow.

I sorted mine this morning, had a few attempts to get through.

My story was I'd passed 1st inspection, on 2nd lift inspection, I failed.

They'd put the day limit from 1st inspection & so when I went to apply for re-test, it was already overdue!

I rang NCT office on 12/3 and though it took a while to explain exactly what was wrong to the lady on the phone, they got it eventually, and booked a standard €28 retest for Saturday 28/3.

On 13/3, I received a text to say my test on 28/3 had been cancelled which I forwarded to info@nct for question, but no response so I rang today.

They've booked me in for 30/3 now. Apparently lady on phone on 12/3 made a mistake and booked me in for a free visual, though I actually need lifts. It suits me fine, but weird thing is, I'm supposed to be charged for the retest using lifts but they've waived that now. Not sure if I should believe them

Booked a retest yesterday for Saturday week, nothing on their website about cancelling tests, they did say that people would wait in their car to be called into the office (but what good will that do, still the same number of people in the waiting room, and some eejits last weekend had brought their kids)

Confirmation text yesterday was this:

Looks very dodgy, no details at all in there, no booking reference, the sender is different, bad grammar and phrasing. Nothing on the NCT website about tests being cancelled. I reckon this is a fake. Anyone else got similar?
