Leaking slate roof

I use an old slate-roofed house as a store/workshop/mancave and there is a leak somewhere, possibly in the felt that’s under the slates. Is it possible to put torch-on felt or mineral felt over slates, instead of removing slates?
    TIA

i assume they are natural slates
yes but is a terrible way to fix it.
once it fails you will have a nightmare to make it right.
strip the roof, re lat and felt then re slate the roof with the old slates

can you not find the leak outside and fix that. the felt isnt your issue or atleast not your main issue. the felt is a secondry layer. your leak is getting past the slates first
