An aunt of mine was walking at the Solway Firth recently, at the site where Edward 1 died while attempting to invade Scotland AFAIK. An aunt of mine was walking at the Solway Firth recently, at the site where Edward 1 died while attempting to invade Scotland AFAIK. There was a plaque there which read as follows:

Apparently there's no attribution, and it doesn't seem likely to have been said by Longshanks himself. Tried searching for it, without success. Anyone know what/who it's from?
