    Hot-rod quad-emitter flashlight with ramping interface and onboard charging via micro-USB. RRP at launch was $40. It was sometimes available for around $30 with a coupon. I think $18 is a price error or clearout.

    Ramping interface means the brightness goes up and down smoothly when you hold the button. It has a very advanced UI and you can configure a bunch of stuff, thermal limit, change to a stepped mode, check the battery level etc. See link in the product page.

    The body is too small to sustain 2000+ lumens continuously - it will get very hot and then the output will lower quickly to avoid overheating. So 2000+ is more of a party trick. If you start at a more reasonable level (500-800 lumen) it should not do much thermal throttling.

    This is the deluxe S version which has a copper head. (The regular version is aluminium). The copper makes it heavier but looks cool and potentially pulls heat away from the emitters quicker.

    The button lights up green when the flashlight is off so you can find it in the dark (uses a tiny bit of power, can be disabled).

    Choice of Cree XP-G3 or Nichia 219C LEDs. The Crees are slightly more efficient (brighter and less heat) and throwy but most prefer the tint and better colour rendition of the Nichia's.

    Requires an 18350 cell (not included), ideally high-drain. An 18650 tube is available for about €2 or €3, personally I would go with that because high-drain 18650s are more readily available. Note that li-ion cells are potentially dangerous and should be used with care/knowledge.

    How do you adjust the lumens , please . Can the light be set up, so that it starts at 500-800 lumens , everytime it is switched on

    They're related to Banggood in some way. Parent company or fullfillment warehouse or something. Has showed up in some of my paypal invoices before. Their email address is @banggood.com. I wouldn't worry about it tbh.

    I recommend an 18650 because it's nearly 3 times the capacity. Bit bulkier obviously. You need to buy the tube (see post above) to use an 18650.

    Li-ion cells are potentially dangerous so if you're not familiar with li-ion safety it's important to get up to speed. I don't want to scare you away but you need to treat the cells with respect. Eg If you threw a bare cell into your pocket with keys and it shorted you'd have a very bad day. An AA based flashlight is more suited to the average user.

    Would there by any difference in the battery itself between ordering from nkon or banggood? Is it a better standard battery from nkon for example? I still have a good few I got from FastTech a couple of years ago.

    The main risk is counterfeit cells, which unfortunately are pretty common.
    Nkon are considered 100% legit, or as close as is possible. You will not get a counterfeit cell.
    Banggood ... they're generally well regarded and i've not received a fake cell personally. I've bought many from them. But I wouldn't put them at 100%.
    With a flashlight like this you want an unprotected cell, ideally one rated at 10A or more. Most protected cells have a fuse around 6A so they will trip on turbo.

    If you're in any way unsure about your cells or li-ions in general, don't hesitate to ask. This is a fairly extreme flashlight and li-ions are no joke.

    Not aimed at you but speaking generally I wouldn't recommend a flashlight like this to someone who doesn't have an interest in electronics, battery technology etc. You need to know your stuff (or read up on it) to use bare li-ion cells safely, choose an appropriate cell, verify that they are authentic and so forth. If you're not into that type of stuff i'd always recommend to stick with an Alkaline/NiMH flashlight.

    Yes, I got mine. I wasn't watching the tracking tbh, I didn't expect it so soon.

    Only had a brief look at it but very happy for the price (I believe allowing a discount code to be stacked onto the already-discounted price was an error).

    It's a heavy little bastard due to the copper head - entirely expected. Gets hot quickly on turbo - also expected. Blinded myself a few times playing around with the UI. The lighted switch has a cool 'eye of sauron' look in the dark.

    I clipped a little bit off the outer tail spring because it seemed longer/stiffer than necessary, I think it dented the base of my Samsung 30Q a tiny bit. It comes with a retarded 'spike' for the tail which is going straight in the bin. Looking at how deep the threaded hole is, I wish they had left it out, the light could have been 10mm shorter easily.

    Mine arrived today too, no batteries or extension tube yet though, they're in separate packages. And I'm out of the country next week so wont get playing with it for a while!
