Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Germany 4/5
    Draw 11/4
    Argentina 16/5

Decent friendly on tonight as Germany face Argentina in Dortmund. Team news:
Germany XI: Ter Stegen; Klostermann, Koch, Sule, Halstenberg; Kimmich, Can; Brandt, Havertz, Gnabry; Waldschmidt.

Argentina XI: Marchesin; Foyth, Otamendi, Rojo, Tagliafico; Pereyra, Paredes, De Paul; Correa, L. Martinez, Dybala.

Don't like Argentina's chances with that CB partnership. No Messi tonight either. Think Germany win this well. Keen to see how Waldschmidt and Havertz get on who are good prospects.

Gnabry makes it 1-0. He's been looking dangerous.

Havertz makes it 2-0. Gnabry again involved. Germany look likely to score every time they break.

Argentina very much defending like a team with Rojo & Otamendi in defence

Just before the game started they had a minute of silence for the victims of today's shooting in Halle, Germany.

In the middle of it some arsehole starts singing the German anthem loudly.

Within seconds a rumble goes through the crowd then some other guy shouts something at the guy singing and the singing stops and half the stadium starts laughing. Even the players lined up on the pitch start smirking. Would love to know what the guy shouted at your man.

Zippy enough for a friendly, Germany looking surprisingly assured with all that rebuilding.

    Halstenberg unlucky. Terrific free-kick.

    And De Paul!

I missed the pre-game stuff but apparently it was this:

    Gnabry top form lately.

I assume Argentina meant to call up Joaquin Correa instead of Angel Correa.

Lol at the commentary on Sky mentioning Rooney and then Vardy in the space of 10 seconds as players developing at different ages.

Great header from Alario to make it 2-1. Game on.

Equaliser! Ocampos with a deflected effort. The subs may have earned a draw.

Germany's second half earned that in a way.

This game is like the definition of a game of two halves.

And it ends 2-2. Germany will be disappointed they couldn't see out the win. For all their attacking prowess - and they'll be better when the likes of Werner and Sane come back - they don't look solid defensively atm. Still time to sort it but wouldn't have them in my top bracket of Euros contenders as things stand.
