Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Danish Football Fan Chant

I witnessed a couple of thousand Danish football fans marching through the city centre heading towards Lansdowne Road this evening.

The usual thing, a big drum, men with flags wrapped around them, some with scarves tied around their hands.

    Then there was some chanting.

    They sang what sounded like

"You Are The S H I T Part Of England".

Is the Danish education system that bad!

I wouldn't put too much importance on what a gang of football supporters sing...our lot sing "You'll never beat the Irish" and yet we get hammered, in every way, everywhere we go!

It's a very common wind up chant. You'll find almost every place in England has a variance sung by away fans e.g singing "small town in Nottingham" to Derby County fans, who arent particularly fond of their neighbours.

The Danes are certainly not a well educated or attractive bunch. However this may be a deliberate attempt to 'troll' the opposing fans.

Of course Irish people are so well versed in Danish history that we expect them to be equally so in Irish history.

    football supporters sing...everywhere we go!

    Everywhere we go!
    People always ask us!
    Who we are?!
    Who we are?!
And where do we come from!
    Where do we come from?
And we always tell them, and we always tell them....

Is it "girls on the bus"?

We used to always sing "girls in the front" when we were being cool down the back of the bus - I'd be very disappointed if several years of my life were spent getting this wrong

Is Ireland not being part of England history?

There were no Ireland fans around.
It seemed to be some sort of reinforcement for the Danes.

In relation to them being not attractive, I cannot agree.

I have been to Denmark and cannot agree. ;)

Yes, but according to the Op they were singing "you are" , not "you were".

It sounded like they were singing "you are the S h i t part of England".

Its almost like football chants dont have to be factually correct. In fact , it's often an attempt to wind the opposition up.......

Meh Irish fans chanted "Jon Vertonghen is shagging your wife at Eriksson". It works both ways.

Multi millionaire or not that's pretty scummy. That wound probably cuts deep.

I think the most impressive part is that the average human brain has 80 odd billion neurons and these lads manage to get by on a few dozen. The human body is amazing really.
