Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So all UK racing suspended until start of May

Looks like an awful year for bookies and also lay offs in the industry.

tbf i like the look of "Sloppy Thirds" in the 14:10 at Hazelbrook!

Looks to be owned by "Cheveley Park" Stud judging by his colours!

Edit: WOW the animation in these virtuals has come on leaps and bounds!

Irish status to be decided tomorrow. Currently is behind closed doors, more than likely will be cancelled also.

Bookmakers expected to take huge hits.

They are the most rancid, deplorable firm that this island has ever seen. Unfortunately there's plenty on addicts that they prey on to keep them open. I just hope those that know better don't use them.

and how prey tell do you expect them to keep going and pay all their employees?
classic case of can't back a winner its the bookies fault

Not sure I understand your point, how do you mean pay all their employees? Especially when I stated they have plenty addicts to keep their shops open and operating. It's from that money they pay their employees. Not that they pay them much in the first place for the work that they do.

Were the bookies generally open today? T
You couldn’t pay me to set foot in one at the moment

In the context of social distancing, a bookies with manky pencils and paper dockets is a hive of germs. I have been known to visit the turf accountants from time to time myself, but let’s be honest, the stereotypical frequenter of a bookies isn’t generally renowned for personal hygiene.

I know somebody working with Boyles and they are staying open tomorrow to cater for "lotto punters". That's how little they think of their staff. Powers and Ladbrokes closed.

    My heart bleeds.
Maybe this will be the impetus that problem gamblers need to stop gambling, a break from gambling for 4-6 weeks might show some The light because the industry sure as sheet dont do anything about it.

Went up to collect. Shop closed 'looking forward to re opening in happier times' the notice on the door says.
What about my happy times and my winning docket?

I’d say you put it somewhere safe Dan, until they reopen. If you’d lost the bet you’d be doing without the money today. So your happier time will arrive the same time as Paddy’s. ;)

    Bad form all the same.
They took my money yesterday knowing that they would be closing that evening.

It's your job to know whether they would be open or not.

Anyone with money in their online accounts especially with smaller firms, I would withdraw it ASAP

The Racing Post website say HRI are meeting to discuss if racing continues.
I would love to know how the contract for TV rights is framed.
If there are penalties to HRI for no pictures it gets interesting.

    Oh that must be it.
Ladbrokes are now issuing green dockets with 'paddypower' written all over them!
