Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just watched the latest Elon presentation on the Spacex channel on YouTube, awe-inspiring!

    They have actually started building BFR already!

    Slightly smaller that the version proposed last year, they seem to have settled for the latest design.

    Whats interesting is they plan to remove the landing legs and land the stages directly back on their launch platform, will need immense accuracy.

    The CRS-13 launch has got some really good footage of the Booster separating, boost-back burn and landing. I'd recommend looking at around the 18:20 mark of this video. Don't think ground camera's ever caught that in as much detail before.

    I have to say that was a great launch and recovery. Can't get enough of these launches.
    Check out the NASA footage below. fantastic close up view of the stage one landing burn and sonic booms starting at 07:48. Magnificent :)

    They're using youtube, so in case of any bandwidth capacity issues on the SpaceX site, direct YouTube link
    (You've no idea how hard it was not to throw a rickroll in there)

    [edit] Launch delayed to 19:20 "due to upper level wind shear".
    Although there's one report saying 19:50, but I think they misread a tweet.
    (Window closes at 21:30 so if it's not launched by then it's postponed to 18:30 tomorrow)

    [edit2] Launch now 20:05 earliest (based on the SpaceX webcast page). Window closes at 21:00, not 21:30.

    Saw something here just minutes (7 or maybe 17 I think) after launch, a few years ago,
    think it was a ISS docking thingymajig.
