Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looks like quite complex weather reflected by how different the models are showing track and wind strengths tomorrow.

Models again differing quite a bit in accumulated amounts. The HIRLAM probably the closest to the warning totals. I'm thinking this is where the forecasters are using their experience in this kind of a complex set up

ARPEGE latest run showing stronger winds then the previous run move into Kerry and across southern counties tomorrow evening. GFS and WRF hasn't caught on to this yet. Wouldn't be surprised to see this looking stronger again on the next runs .

Fast moving deepening area of LP moving across Ireland in around 5hrs or so. One to keep an eye on.

The French models have brought the track of the Low further North on the latest run. The strongest winds on a Track from Galway across the midlands to Dublin. Moving very quickly but could pack a punch with winds possibly gusting 110-120 km/h here for a short time.

Thw WRF -NMM not as strong but blustery nonetheles across the country.

Strange sudden increase in winds here in West Clare!

Seriously heavy rain here in Castlebar. Fields well flooded now with side roads full of water

That clear slot approaching the coast is where I would imagine the strong winds will arrive from.

Avoiding the rain here in Kerry apart from mist/ drizzle. I see Claremorris had 11 mm up until 12.00, must have had a fair amount since then.

Newport Mayo 11.6mm in the 16.00 reports for the previous hour

ARPEGEE has toned down the wind speed a bit in the latest run but looks strong as the Low deepens and exits the E coast later tonight.

Fast moving and brief but quite windy nonetheless.

That level sounds pretty accurate. Flash floods in Achill over the course of an hour's rain according to family . Torrential nearing ark territory :-) .. And they know rain around there.

The developing Low passing over the country quickly. So far from what I can see hasn't produced winds out of the ordinary.

Absolutely howling here in Dublin 16 at the moment. Really feels as bad as Ophelia. Banging and creaking in the rafters in quite an alarming way.

As an aside, I have been monitoring ventusky during every storm so far this year. On each occasion, the area between Tallaght and Sandyford (of which D16 is smack in the middle of) always comes in for the strongest gales, much stronger than north Dublin and other areas of Leinster. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to meteorology. Would anyone be kind enough to enlighten me as to why that is?

We do get relatively strong winds in the area if the wind is SWerly. I'm almost sure it's due to the Wicklow mountains deflecting the wind around them causing an area of higher windspeed on the flank.

If the winds are southerly, we're sheltered by the mountains and windspeed is much lower.

It sounded pretty windy here in Celbridge the past hour but nearby Casement only reported 45 knots, which is probably about right for here too. Dublin Airport 47 knots.

Making it's way into the North Sea now . Still quite blustery over here near the Kerry coast especially in the last squally shower.

In my opinion after the ARPEGE / AROME corrected themselves in the last run proved to be quite close, just a bit over done it around the E. Not bad though . WRF not bad if a bit under especially on Atlantic coasts .

    Got up to 97 km/h in Mace Hd, 94 km/h Casement, 84 km/h Shannon, 83 km/h Oakpark , 83 km/h Valentia
