Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Complete impulse buy here.
Can anyone tell me where the usb goes and where the 3.5 mm bit goes.
    :o
Unfortunately, i don't think my speakers will work with this. :(

You plug the USB into a power source. I use a spare iPhone plug ie pop the USB into the plug and plug straight into a power socket.
Then just pull the 3.5mm into your source in to the speakers. That's it. For now I have a really basic cheap set of Logitech speakers purchased from lidl a few weeks ago. This solution is perfect. But I plan to pick up a better set of speakers.

If you use the speakers for pc or laptop you could feed the blue tooth audio out into the laptop line in or mic

Or the just directly to the speakers with some stand alone usb power

Never knew you had to plug it into the wall. :o
    Not bad.
One less wire i suppose. :D

    Mine arrived today.

It really is well worth it for the money.

Plugged it into a USB plug and the 3.5mm from my dual phono cable coming from my speakers.

    Sounds fine to me :)

There's a lot of crackling with mine, anyone know how to eliminate that? Otherwise it's perfect

Folks can anyone tell whether this would work to connect this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Live-Stream-Media-Player/dp/B005MYX33K/ref=dp_return_2?ie=UTF8&n=340831031&s=computers to my speakers across the room?

Does it matter if the audio out from the WD LIVE TV isn't done via usb?

Thanks for the swift reply, that's a pity. Wonder is there any alternative that could be used.

I'm just after receiving this but don't know how to get it to work. I have speakers with a usb port on it and also with an auxiliary in socket. I have the bluetooth dongle plugged in and the 3.5mm lead out of the dongle and into the auxiliary too. Don't know if that's right but the laptop isn't picking up any bluetooth devices around?

Is the blue light flashing on the usb? Most likely the usb isn't being powered as you need to be in aux mode. One way to check if this is the problem is bring your laptop over to the speakers and plug the usb into the laptop with the aux cable into the speakers on aux mode. Then do a search for bluetooh devices.

Long term solution is to get a wall socket usb charger and plug the usb into that.

For some reason my laptop wont install the software needed. It pairs with the device fine and then it says it can't find the bluetooth device software or something like that. My phone is working fine with it though so it's set up properly. Anyone have a link to the software for this for windows 7?

I plugged mine into my PC, and i did not get the prompt that drivers were being installed.

The way i use it is the 3.5mm jack from my speakers is plugged into it and a usb cable plugged in charges it.

no drivers needed, only uses usb for power

any drivers needed would just be to do with bluetooth hardware in laptop which is seperate

Current exchange rate works out at €4.72 delivered. Been looking for something like this to build into a pair if speakers I have. Pair them up with a little amp to make a nice "wireless" setup for the attic on the cheap. Just for background music. Would have preferred "AirPlay" but for less than a fiver, bluetooth will do!!! Happy days!!

I read there from a previous poster that this has a range of 5 metres...Has anyone got further? Wouldn't mind getting one if i could get a larger range.

Depends on the quality of the transmitting device. My old Samsung Galaxy S running cyanogenmod, was able to transmit through up to 2 walls and 10-15m if there was line of site. Of course the data transmission rate is reduced the further away you are, which makes the sound more compressed. Other phones only managed a few meters before they cut out.

so...anyone got one lying around that they never used?? :)

    Hi

I was looking for something similar a while back and got a few different ones as they all had issues where audio dropped out when the devices were more than a couple of meters apart. Eventually got this one from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B4XCHEY/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and its range is huge works from one room to the other and also has a rechargeable battery so you can turn any headphones wireless if needs be.

Yes, you can have mine, the audio quality is crap.

I bought one to see how it compared with the main one I use which is below:

I have one as well and never used it much. Sound is brutal. I'll see if I can dig 'er out.

I haven't noticed any major problem with the sound quality (but I did add a new antenna to help a bit with the range)

I find mine pretty good, TBH. I have it plugged into my stereo upstairs and can walk around with my phone in my pocket and get no dropouts or glitches at all.
