Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It was definitely a not so subtle hint to Trump that he does not have the backing of the military if he attempts to take things to the extreme.

I dare say it will settle down around June after the grumbling. What is interesting is who will run for president next term.

If someone had to step in, probably Canada and then the UK.

Send in the Australian Special Forces. That will sort them out.

America has been divided before. It's always had a rich poor divide. It's got lots of racial division that goes deep and for centuries. Politically, talking roughly of course, 50 % vote Democrat, 50% vote Republican. There's a north south divide and a west east divide. Civil strife? The 1960's were no cakewalk. While one part of the nation was putting men on the moon, other parts were rioting on the streets, others were blowing the crap out of rice farmers in South East Asia. Nixon didn't exactly inspire confidence with the population and then was kicked out. In the lead up to WW2 a large percentage of Americans wanted no part of it until a few Japanese lads driving Mitsubishis dropped a few bangers on their ships. So trump while an obvious and dangerous oaf is now out of there and after some gnashing of teeth it'll settle down to being the huge behemoth of a nation divided all over the place convincing itself it isn't.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

If America was to implode, let's say via a civil war, who will come to her rescue?

I'll say the Ireland and UK.

...Or can it ever implode? every nation has a connection there. a war in America, is a world war surely.

Aye, cos both Ireland and the Brits are like world powers to sort out the US.

America isn't going to implode any time soon.

Who gives a toss. They've killed enough innocent people to fatten their wallets. Let them kill themselves.

The mainstream media sure has done a grand job of causing a huge divide with extreme partisan bias.

Obviously the intervention would come from the North!

Canada would send the all powerful empower Trudeau to the rescue. He could dress up in culturally appropriate native Indian gear.

I'll grab the popcorn and watch the gun tooting mentalists on both sides do the world a favour

They always invite the extremes of each side on to shout at each other.

The only thing Ireland could do is send a Christmas card ffs. We have zero military input to offer.

Suppose we could ask Christy to write a song.

And be ready for all the refugees?

Thinking back to when someone on Inishturk made a remark that if Trump was elected they could all come to the island. Literally overwhelmed they were!

Nobody intervened in civil war 1861 ...

Kiiiiind of yes. But really no.

We here in Limerick supplied grey uniforms to the rebels and got ships past the yankee blockade.

They were carted out of this archway on Edward St. and down to Limerick docks.

Peter Tait the owner of the Limerick Clothing Factory made quite the packet of money. Bought himself a lovely big gaff up in Southill too! A small handful of these uniforms are still extant in U.S. museums.

Canada and EU and other westerns would support blue states.

The goal is to win both coasts.

Russia and China try some crimea tactics on the west coast. To divide the population, sow division.

Mexico is initially neutral. The cartels start importing Russian/Chinese support equipment to the red states.

It would be a good opportunity to return the territory to the people who were there before all the troublemakers arrived. Spain, Germany, Italy, Ireland and the rest could take our people back. Canada could help in organising it.

Big empty place for just 1m Indians.

They weren't some harmonious Avatar-style hippy colony either back in the day. They were constantly leathering the ****e out of each other. Apaches were particularly nasty.

Humans are 'troublemakers'. If you don't believe that, you are tending towards racism.

Well, for a start, every one of us who has family, friends there and loved ones of any description gives a toss...

People who value life , ‘give a toss’.. you seriously need to have a word with yourself or in fact somebody who can help you.

Before the troublemakers arrived there was no Canada, USA or Mexico. So if the USA is set to implode it is to do with the people who set up that territory. If they all went back to their home countries, the locals would probably resume their nasty wars.

Bob Geldof, Bono and Elton John would sort out a huge charity fundraising blockbuster gig to be held simultaneously in Wembley, London, Woodstock in upstate New York and on the top on Mount Fuji with a guitar solo beamed live from Chris Hadfield on the International Space Station.

It would be called Love Aid...
