What's the fishing like in Castlegregory? I know the South East Coast is the best from the shore but hoping to spend a bit of time fishing here.
    Is there much doggies about?

Was fishing other side of Mount Brandon last Monday for an hour or so. Using feathers mainly, caught 1 pollack on first cast and that was it. Cast out a few spinners before leaving with no success. Was at north of Clogher head, stunning area.

Castlegregory area has some great fishing. The beaches from Dumps to fermoyle all throw up bass, flounder, turbot and painted ray. Castlegregory to derrymore most beaches will throw up bass, flounder, painteds, stingers and the closer you get to derrymore the more chance you have of undulates and thornies. You can fish for bass and sea trout in cloghane eastury near brandon. Brandon pier you can get mackerel but they havent shown in numbers yet. you can also try fenit for a bag of species. Mackerel , bass, flounderm dabs, corkings, ballans, herring, sandsmelt , tub gurnards, thornies, undulates and stingers are all to had.
