Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just another leak question

We've got a few leak stains on the living room ceiling... directly under our small ensuite. Stains are primarily under toilet & shower. The stains appeared a few months ago, and don't appear to have changed (drew pencil marks around them to confirm).

I can't quite understand why the stains have appeared under both toilet & shower at same time. Additionally, why would the leaks have stabilised (stain marks not getting larger).

    Grateful for any enlightenment.
    Thanks
    P

What flooring is in the ensuite? Have you checked the flex to the toilet? Any grout missing in the shower/floor tiles? Any one-off flooding like toilet over flow? Does the ensuite have any rads in there? Does the ensuite have an extractor fan? Sorry for the questions but like any problem its usually a process of elimination.

Water finds the path of least resistance. The stain under the toilet for example could be from the shower.

    Tiled flooring.
The flex itself is fine.... but there is a hole between it & the tiles - I could well imagine water spilt on the floor doing the damage in question.

Grout seems fine apart from a few hairline cracks.
    No rads or extractor fan.

I'll seal the hole with silicone, paint the ceiling, and say a decade of the rosary.

    Sound.

If it never happened before and didnt happen again....ask a few probing questions of the people who use it....
I bet there was a one off incident of a shower head shooting out outside the shower tray area!!!
