Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anyone tell me what the weather was like in November 1947?

All the reports go on about the great winter of 1946 - 47. But not a mention of November 1947.

Reason I ask is someone told me they were born in November 1947 and their father had to get a midwife and the snow was over the ditches.

Nearest I can get to a mention of snow in November is this bit from netweather mentioning snow fall and a big swing in temperature in Scotland.

This person was from the southeast of Ireland.

Thanks for that! Seemingly there was heavy snowfall in the southeast on the 17th.
