Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Previous thread hit 10,000 posts again.
The usual rules apply regarding abuse of posters/players, rumours about players'/managers' private lives etc (none of that's allowed).
    Enjoy.

What's the story with Kingston lads? Any news on if Ger Cunningham is available to replace him?

Why would we want Ger Cunningham in to replace him just as a matter of interest?

Word is with kingston that it was the straw that broke the camel's back over the AI final tickets.

Whats that about the AI Final tickets Dufflebag? I missed that one!

Yerra Kingston looked for a couple of tickets for the AI Final. He got his tickets but had to pay for them. Pearse Murphy has full control over tickets. Even the chairman couldn't get any satisfaction when looking for the minor players to receive a few extra tickets on top of the 4 they received

Pat Ryan and Diarmuid O Sullivan rule themselves out of the running for the managers job. hopefully they would be open to a selectors role if asked by the new manager, would be a shame to lose all of the previous management team given the year we had

Not a bad show. Great seeing some clips from Siamsa, Jackson, U2, Collins etc and think Jaysus I was there for most of those and then clips from so many games and think I was there for a lot of them as well. Looking foward to making new memories in the new Páirc.

Ah it was a good show and well produced I taught. The one thing though is it reinforced the belief that something had to be done with the old Pairc. We were lucky to come away without life's lost Shamo. We were blessed.

Also some of the "challenges" from the Kerry lads in 76 were a bit meaty shall we say.

Intermediate replay on tg4 at 1.30

Cork with the wind lead 0-4 to 0-1 after 15min. a few massive frees from Keeva McCarthy

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,170 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Poor half from Cork. 5 v 3 up at ht having played with a very strong wind. Not scoring for about 15 minutes might come back to haunt us. Some very bad free taking as well, might have been better off dropping them in as the wind is a downward cross wind and hard to read.
3 yellows in a feisty enough first half.
Playing against the wind might actually help the cork fowards.

very scrappy game. atleast the ref is frustrating both sides

level after 40min, Cork can't get out of their own half

Meath 1 up with 10 min left

edit: 2 up, that could be it in a game where scores are very hard to come by

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,163 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Meath 4 up with 2 min left. Cork with 1 point in 2nd half nowhere near enough

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,170 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    Meath 0-10 v 0-07 Cork
You can't win a final if you dont score for 25minutes.
Meath took the lead for the first time with 10 to go and they never looked like losing after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,163 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Big win for Nemo in the SFC semifinal, 5-13 to 0-12 over Duhallow. St Finbarrs v Carbery Rangers just started, Barrs lead 0-3 to 0-1 after 10 min

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,163 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Big win for the Barrs too, 3-14 to 0-14

Barrs were very impressive. Was Sherlock involved with the senior set up at all this year? Looks a fine player if he could be a bit less wasteful.

Knocknagree, Boherbue, Newmarket and Kanturk all had championship games yesterday, putting Duhallow at somewhat of a disadvantage. Still though, 16 points is 16 points.

The gulf in quality between Intermediate and Senior looked massive having watched both the drawn final and replay. I suppose that's to be understood. Did Cork even score from play ?

Twice I think, 5 frees. We gad a kot of trouble getting the right ball into our fowards. Driving about 5 or 6 long range frees wide certainly didn't help. Sometimes lofting a few into the square is the better option.

from the paper a few days back
Duffy confirmed the All-Ireland SHC final will take place on August 19 next year. The football decider is likely to happen on September 2 as Croke Park is set to accommodate part of Pope Francis’ visit to Ireland next year on the weekend of August 26.

The Allianz Leagues are in line to finish by the first weekend in April with the championship commencing at the start of May.

The new hurling structure will mean there will be only a live televised football championship draw on RTÉ on October 19. The master fixtures calendar for 2018 is set to be released at the end of November. The provinces will decide the draw for the round-robin games — each team will have one break weekend.
its about all there is at the moment .

Erins Own are just after beating Kilmurry in the junior football championship, big surprise there as Kilmurry are going very well in the under 21 championship. Down to 3 teams now, Kilmacabea, erins own and Knocknagree

    Hey Mok!

They have parking spaces reserved which are right on the stadium for disabled access alright.

And I have seen they have seats specifically assigned for disabled specatators also.

I'd recommend arriving early and speaking to a steward

    Enjoy the game!!

Mallow 1-17 St Michaels 1-16 in a thrilling game.

Left at HT of the senior with Nemo 6 up and toying with the Barrs but great credit to the Barrs to force a replay, 0-14 apiece

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,170 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Mallow won the intermediate beating st. Michael's 1-17 v 1-16 in a cracker.

    Nemo v Barrs a draw 0-14 a piece.

Nemo were 0-08 v 0-00 up after 17 mins so they will be gutted not to have won from that position. But the story of the game was the way the Barrs came back. Burns at full back, their midfield domination but in particular Maguire. He was nothing short of majestic. His finest display in a Barrs jersey surely. He ran at that Nemo defence at Every opportunity. Sherlock kicked some great scores and they definitely got their just rewards with their midfield domination.
