Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Weird stuff going on in the air - you'd think it was flat calm outside but hyperlapse video shows different...

Looking at the radar and lightning maps, that's a proper storm over W. Meath atm

Lightningmaps showing lots of strikes nearby here (North Kildare) but don't see any lightning and certainly no thunder.

On the drive home from work there was some seriously impressive looking cloud formations about the place.

Hopefully some of it results in lightning around Athlone later on

Thunder in Ardee Co Louth, very dark sky. Haven’t seen any lightning yet.

Now looking straight into the cloud that should be absolute lit up over Edenderry according to Lightningmaps but not so much as a flicker or a rumble out of it. Is it possible the thunderstorm activity is so high up to be above cloud cover and inaudible?

Long old grumbles here on East Coast Meath, not loud just long. Has just started bucketing down. No flashes to be seen yet.

Thunder and lightning the past hour or so in Meath. Haven't seen showers like it in a long time. Bound to be some flooding on the roads.

Massive downpour in Cavan town with a few rumbles of thunder and lightning. Getting heavier by the minute

    Really weird evening out here.

Clouds are haring past at the moment and alternates very quickly from bright to very dark.

Very little rain though and no lightning/thunder activity despite Lightningmaps saying there was nearby.

There's a whole band dividing the north and south of the country that seems to be active and with heavyvrain according to met.ie though.

Almost tempted to drive towards Westmeath to get in on the action up in Athlone! :-)

Just arrived in Galway, drove from Kilbeggan and it was pretty much a storm for the whole journey, great lightning strikes, torrential rain, wow. Unfortunately there was a crash near Loughrea. Still rumbling away here. Buzzing.

I had my son on camera duty so I will check later.

After getting wet and windy here near Tralee this evening. Wonder if the trough moving in over Kerry could get a lift over the land and become unstable enough to produce some sparks.

EDIT: looking through the charts probably no more lightning here in Kerry today.
