Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You should be happy. This is what you are given. Higher ground of North Leinster, Ulster and Connaught (above 250m) will see significant snowfall today but also sleet and snow of the wet variety to lower levels in to the evening in particular. The snow level will be dropping through the day and will reach it's nadir as the fronts clear east early tonight. However I don't expect most low lying areas to see snow given most of the parameters don't quite support it. But you never know - it's a very marginal situation. A surprise is conceivable.

There will almost certainly be no real disruption but all the same Met Eireann have helpfully provided a warning just in case.

The north midlands is most at risk of snowfall today.

Temperature dropped down to 4.0 (and falling) from 5.7 at 6:33 this morning, Wicklow mountain summits must be getting a hammering from this already. I'm quite optimistic about getting the toboggan out this weekend.

Actual dewpoints are about a degree higher than the models had predicted, so heading the wrong side of marginal. Cold rain and sleet for 99% of people today

I'm not sure if DPs are playing ball for anything but the highest peaks at the moment. Hopefully that will change later.

Just to add, I looked at the euro 4 his res model and while it doesn't have snow tomorrow evening (but has plenty lying in the top half of the country by then) it has precipitation around on a hit and miss basis, uppers of -6 to -8 and sub zero dew points. Well worth watching...

there was wet snow here this morning which turned back to rain.
this evening into tonight we might see some snow as the front clears and then showers move in.
