    Dry day here in the south of Laois, and barring any unlikely rouge shower this April tops out at just 14.1mm which is well below average for the month. Clear sky at present with temperatures of just 3.0c on the AWS!

    4.9mm here near Tralee from this afternoon till early evening. Plenty of hail mixed in and could see a light coating of white on the mountains this evening.

    Top temp 12.2C, Low 0.0C, a cool 4.5C atm

    April set a new record here in Loughlinstown for lowest April mean at 7.7C narrowly beating out 2016's 7.8C.
    It was also the first time since i started recording that the April mean was lower than the preceding March mean.
    The monthly max was 16.4C recorded on the 4th.
    Tied lowest rainy days (>0.2mm) at 5 with June 2018
    Overall rainfall was 9mm, the third lowest total recorded since I started here in 2012
    Will remember it for the high amount of sunshine and cutting easterly winds

    Frosty start in Arklow to may
    April max was 15.4c on the 4th
    Min was - 1.2 on the 16th
    3 weeks plus of frosty mornings
    Rain total was 17mm thanks mainly to Thursday and Fridays showers this week
