    hi
    i bought this ps1 slim to custom paint and stripped it down and i found some cables had been soldered in the board so i thought its been modded so i custom painted the console and reassembled it so i tried a ntsc game didnt work then tried a copy game still no joy just plays pal games has anybody got any idea what has been done to the board heres a photo

    took ps1 apart again under the paper is a stealth chip ELF168 and a photo of reverse side

    That soldering job looks poor enough.
    I'd remove the chip and check it out with a retail game to make sure the laser isnt dead.

    After that I'd resolder the chip in and see how it goes.
    Wouldn't be surprised if the soldering job was causing issues
