Mayo 11/1 for the All-Ireland with Sky Bet. I'm tempted...

In to 8/1:mad: When you see what look like generous odds get on them people.

Doing a Mayo/Monaghan provincial title double instead.

New York +20 V Mayo on PP +19 with Boyles...thoughts?

Have New York lost alot from last year? different management?

I don't get the 20 point spread at all. New York have done ok last few years, albeit last time Mayo went there they won by 22 points in 2014. I think New York have improved since and went big on them on the handicap at evens on PP, (10/11, but i used a power up to get it to evens)

This could be part of the reason... Irish Times Article

Since last year, New York have lost a thoroughbred attacking talent in Jamie Clarke. Former Mayo stalwart Tom Cunniffe is not playing. Donal Ward, the former Roscommon player, has spent the spring boxing in the Golden Gloves. Neil Collins, another experienced Roscommon defender, is immersed in his career as a fashion designer. Kildare’s Daniel Flynn spent the early part of the year training with the team but has since returned to Ireland. For O’Halloran, it is simply a matter of working with whoever is there.

    Record since 2012

2012: New York 0-6 Sligo 3-21, Gaelic Park, NY
2013: New York 0-7 Leitrim 4-19, Gaelic Park, NY
2014: New York 0-8 Mayo 4-18, Gaelic Park, NY
2015: New York 0-8 Galway 2-18, Gaelic Park, NY
2016: New York 0-17 Roscommon 1-15, Gaelic Park, NY [6]
A late burst in 2016 took New York to within one point of opponents Roscommon, who had contested the National Football League Division 1 semi-finals only one month earlier.[3]
2017: New York 1-13 Sligo 1-21 , Gaelic Park, NY.
2018: New York 1-15 Leitrim 0-19, Gaelic Park, NY.

PP originally opened this line @ Mayo -14 10/11... and Boyles followed with -15. Them lines didnt last long...

Even though NY have added Cathal Compton, Niall Madine and Sean Hurley to this years squad in my opinion the line is closer to being correct at the current -20 than the original -14.

Yes NY nearly beat Leitrim last year but Mayo are at a completely different level to Leitrim and will bring a much stronger intensity to the game than Leitrim did or what NY are used to.

For anyone betting the -20 the winning and losing of this bet will be how well Vinny Cadden plays in goal for NY. He was awesome in 2016 against Roscommon with about 5 super saves (iirc) which was a huge part in why NY nearly caught Ros on the hop that day. Ros were -21 that day!!!

At -20 it's a no bet for me but I'd love have gotten some of that -14

Clare to win the hurling AI at 9/1 seems way overpriced when you consider that Cork and Tipperary are 6/1 best price. I'd have Clare ahead of both teams in quality at the moment.

Any value on the hurling next weekend? Specifically Galway v Carlow in Salthill. Huge task for Carlow but we've got some real quality in our forwards. If we can keep the opposition score to manageable levels we might cause a few problems for the big guns in Leinster.

Carlow plus 16 is handicap . Might be worth a bet . Galway were poor enough throughout the league and now without canning . Will look a bit more into it during week

New York +17 (v Mayo) might be worth a look. It's pissing rain in NY.

One more medium term bet that caught my eye was Name the finalists for the Munster final.Paddypowers have Kerry + Tipp at 5/4 and Kerry + Cork at 4/6.
This is essentially a bet on the Tipp beating Cork (assuming Kerry beat the winners of Clare/Waterford and Tipp beat Limerick)

I think Kerry + Tipp at 5/4 represents value. While both Tipp and Cork were relegated in the league, Tipp were much more affected by injuries from what I could see. Tippeary were missing Quinlivan for 5 of the league games and I believe he was rushed back to try and stave off relegation. Beyond that they were missing a number of their stronger players - this is a big issue for Tipp as the quality of their panel drops a fair bit as you go down the panel. I saw Liam Kearns saying that they have everyone fit and well for the game against Limerick this weekend.
Cork did have injuries in the league too - Powter being the main one but I don't think Cork would be as greatly affected as Tipp by injuries in that a lot of their starters/subs and panel seem to be much of a muchness in terms of quality.

In terms of Cork I heard that they beat Galway in a recent challenge (where they conceded 6 goals but scored 3-26) and beat Carlow by a point and Laois by 2. I know it's a bit risky to read too much into challenge game results, but overall that's fairly unimpressive stuff, especially when you look at Galway's performance against London and consider how woeful they were in the league. I didn't think the management were up to much before the league and I saw nothing whatsoever to change that. The result of the league game between the two was Tipp 0-12 to Cork 1-12 and it was a tight affair all the way to the finish - Cork got a goal with about 5 minutes left. Overall I think it's worth a medium punt at this stage. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Tipp put up a big score against Limerick and the price to tighten a bit.

Boyles have the cap 1 point lower than others in the Kilkenny v Dublin hurling game ,

    Kilkenny -1 is 4/5 or -2 21/20 ..

    It's kilkenny -2 5/6 PP or -3 11/10

Are Kilkenny worth a bet with Boyles ?

Any bookmakers doing any of the usual specials this year? Shops or online?
Some of the best in recent years have been:
Pp - double odds, first goalscorer bets if he score a again.
Pp - double odds goal in first 15 mins (whatodds offers generally comparable for most likely scorers here)
Pp - money back if you first goalscorer selection scores anytime. (This was even running during the league).
Ladbrokes - double odds first goalscorer in first 15 too.

I see Boyles have some sort of double odds special for a goal in first 10 mins - seems unclear as to what exactly it is and how it works. One per day per customer, first qualifying bet, definitely needs more explanation. Not clear if its tv games only etc.
Appears to be online and shop though.

The only thing I've found is outright bets refunded if mayo win the all Ireland, and that's restricted to a tenner!!
Specials and offers have definitely been reducing since changes in betting tax at the start of the year, so that may be issue?
