Does anyone know what the story is with the reduced speed limits on the Strandhill Road?

New signs erected advising that the limit drops from 80km/h to 50 km/h from before Scarden Cemetery all the way to bottom of Barnasraghy road where NCF Dairy located?

Is it temporary or a new limit going forward? 50 km/h seems too slow on this road if a permanent change?

They were doing road works out there when I passed it on Tuesday around lunch time. It looked like they were resurfacing part of the road.
Maybe they weren't at it at the time you passed?
It was down to one lane traffic with temporary stop/go lights in action.

Drove back out that way yesterday and saw the roadworks... Guessing the new limits are just temporary with semi-permanent looking signage!
