Gomorrah - fascinating show about the world of organized crime in Naples, topped off with family politics and violence. On Season 2 right now.

This show is sensational, I'm absolutely hooked.

Banshee is also well worth a watch in my opinion

The Bridge is another excellent show imo. As is The Killing but the former is the better of the two.

I've tried The Bridge but I keep falling off and never get back to it. Usually I'm wrecked when I get a chance to watch something so following subs is a pain. Must try them again.

It scores bonus points for my other half loving it despite subtitles

Christ how could I forget! The Killing, sensational first couple of seasons. The original is Danish (haven't seen it) but I've heard it to be even better. If your into the Criminal/Murder/mystery types this is a must see.

I saw the originals first, which makes a difference bit I definitely think the originals are hugely better.

The shield and the wire are fantastic , shield sucks you in from the first episode and gets progressively better

Scandal is good, suits, Scott and bailey.

The first episode of The Shield is a belter. One of the few shows where it's not just an empty promise

Homeland very good too. Also the Americans.

The shield is some of the finest TV I've ever seen. Completely hooks you in from episode 1. Also some tremendous guest stars in there. Glenn Close & Forest Whitaker being the 2 most memorable. Top recommendation!

Person of interest, person of interest, person of interest.

I have watched 12 episodes of season 1 of person of interest, does it get better? Just seems to be the same thing, computer, number, kill or be killed. It's watchable but very repetitive.

Deadwood, some of the best acting TV has ever seen

I would advise you to stick with it. Gets better and better

I'm 4 episodes in on the first series of Bloodline. It is a bit slow but quite intriguing at the same time. Are there many twists and turns to come or do I cut my losses?

Would definitely recommend Life on Mars and the follow up Ashes to Ashes - brilliantly scripted and cast and they manage to get a great balance between a cop show, a nostalgia trip through the eyes of a contemporary character, comedy, action and just the right touch of the super natural - well worth a watch....
