Saw to hear of the death of Muhammad Ali. IMO one of the top sporting icons ever, stood up for his beliefs and also very charismatic. So much could be said about him.
    May he R.I.P

Putting down a new lawn here, anybody ever use a grazing seed mix or should I spend a few quid on a proper lawn mix?

It will work fine, might grow a bit faster and be a bit coarser that some of the fine lawn mixes. But if your in the country surrounded by farmland then the lawn is going to seed with blown in seed no matter what and in a few years it will have a good deal of coarser grass anyway.

I used lawn seed in 2008 and TBH you wouldn't see it now, if I look carefully I can see some of the fine grasses still there, but the majority is just coarse grass.

Also depends what your happy with, some people want a bowling green effect. I'm very clear, ours is a garden not a lawn.

Last of the round bales in. They look pretty in pink. With what's left over from last year I should have enough to last me through a 'normal' winter. There will be more to be made. Rather be looking at spare bales than looking fot them.
Also made some small square bales of hay yesterday. Got bless the guy that developed round baler and wrapped silage

Have a lot of iron in the water here. It builds up in the pipeline as a sort of rust on the inside and then comes loose and blocks every fcuking ballcock, joiner and tee on the line. Have spent all day going along the line and opening them to clear them. Only thing is on a day like today the spray of water up over you when you open the fitting is welcome.

Feckin know all about it. Fitting a treatment system to remove it is the only solution. V annoying when outside but worse when its coming into the house. Ruins showers, toilets heating and washing machine.

Waste of a day here. Bought a bale handler on done deal yesterday evening. Arranged to meet and collect it 9am this morn. Text him to say I was leaving at 8. Went down and tried to call half way down but kept going. ****er had his phone turned off and never turned up. Sold it to someone else and didn't have the courtesy to give me a text.

Don't understand how people can't keep their word on a deal for a few pound extra.

Were they young ones? Feckers are like flies, they get in through a window that's cracked open a few inches, then can't see the window to get out!

I'm at the same job, among others.Lawn seed isn't that dear. I bought a 12.5kg bag of No2 lawn mix for 40 quid. It'll sow all I want to sow.
