Shane missed from 5 foot and 3 foot on the last two holes. If he holed those he'd be tied 5th instead of T16th. Depressing.

Big bounce back on 10 from Day. Can't see him not winning from here on out.

Another lovely 69 by GMac. That'll help the confidence!

Some contrast from the final Sunday last year... today has just been a borefest.

Augusta demons still hovering around Spieth it would appear.

Sergio should be so far ahead in this thing. He just can't stay out of the water

Sergio really psyched koepka out of it.

Delighted for Sergio. Held his nerve brilliantly to finish!

So no tournament at Trump Doral next year with the wgc moving to Mexico :D

    http://m.rte.ie/sport/golf/2016/0601/792684-pga-tour-to-move-wgc-cadillac-to-mexico/

Tim finchem said a sponsor could not be found to have it played at Doral. Probably due to trump I'd guess.

Nice to see a wgc event leaving the states at least even if it's only going to Mexico.

Loved Rory's comment of "It's quite ironic that we're going to Mexico after being at Doral. We just jump over the wall".

Rory seems to have switched back to his traditional putting grip.

cack or not, that was a soft miss

interesting point regarding the cack handed putting grip. had a chipping lesson last week and we were told our shoulders should be more level with each other than playing full shots where your left shoulder would be above your right shoulder.

his tip was to practice cack handed which when you think about it, naturally brings your left shoulder down a bit. its not a comfortable change, but to practice like that helps you naturally level out the shoulders.

maybe Rory has just been practicing to naturally level things out!!!!

Just looked it up that Day and Spieth have won 12 times between them on the PGA Tour since Rory's last win in May 2015. The Irish Open was great of course but he really is under pressure to up his game in the States where the real money and ranking points are to be made.

Big round needed from Rory to get back into contention

Going well so far, 5 under through 10 putter going good also just sank one from over 35 feet.

Nice southern Ireland flag beside the mcllroy :)

Seamus Power has followed up last months win on the Web.com tour with top 10s in the last 2 events.
That moves him up to 6th on the money list with $168k. 162k was enough to earn a PGA Tour card last season.

I'd miss my own wedding for the chance to play at The Open.

unreal. maybe his only chance ever... who knows, but these opportunities don't come around all that often.

    Foolish decision IMO

We arranged our own wedding date around her brother to make sure he would be there. We had to pick a week with no event on or else he would have missed the wedding. And he is only a caddy!!!!

Not quite the same situation, unless you had to change the date of your wedding a few weeks before it?

Also, some Americans don't see the Open as the be all and end all like we do. Billy Hurley more than most doesn't seem to see golf as being the only priority in his life.

Completely agree. Obviously he is a young guy but maybe this year could have been his only chance to ever play The Open.... and he turns it down... for his sister's wedding.

Think she might have been content with a rather bulky envelope instead.

I was originally thinking that it was crazy to not play The Open but I can understand when you see what the family has been through in the last year or so, Hurley could be tasked with giving the bride away in the absence of the father for all we know, it will no doubt be an emotional day for the family, so I guess it is just a game at times to some people, rightfully so obviously.
