I'd bench Defoe (as he's your cheapest striker for Townsend) - Sunderland prob celebrating the last few days and Watford will want to put in a big performance in Flores' last game.

I'd transfer out Carroll and Kane. If Carroll couldn't score against United's midget defence then he'll not be scoring when Shawcross is horsing him round the place for 90 mins. Spurs are a much weaker and less creative side without Alli and Dembele. Kane has looked frustrated and resorted to shooting from anywhere on the pitch. Also Newcastle will want to perform for their fans in their last PL home game for a while.

I'd definitely get Martial in as it'll be all out attack against a tired and leaky Bournemouth defence. Giroud would be my other pick but you already have your Arsenal quota. Obviously Aguero if you have the funds but failing that someone like Long (home to a Palace side who'll be minding themselves for the fa cup final) or one of the 2 Watford strikers (for reasons already mentioned above) would be my pick.

    GL with whatever you decide.

Carroll too long will 1 transfer im thinkin but thrn ifi bench defoe and sell kane im stuck with townsend and mahrez bothstarting which im not too comfortable with either..... but taking a -8 is a bit ott I think

    Bit of advice please.

Have a 14pt lead in a mini league. My team is:

    Hennessy/Robles
    Evans/Bellerin/Delaney/PvA/Darmian
    Payet/Sanchez/Lanzini/Townsend/Mahrez
    Carroll/Aguero/Deeney

Had planned to use FT with Carroll to Kane as a block for closest rival but now thinking to use the FT and take a -4 hit to get in Degea and Smalling as my defense is in tatters with rotation/injuries. Rival has these 2 also so also a blocking move. Any other ideas. Main differentials are he has Hazard and Kane.

Anything else obvious that I'm missing ?

I'd say hold Carroll. West Ham tend to score goals at least, Perhaps consider Cech and the double Arsenal tactic. (PP have them 5/6 for a clean shett and United 1/1) I've got Smalling and Kosc and am considering Monreal but I'm chasing. Positive news re. Darmian and it all flips for you perhaps and DeGea with the FT could be all you need. Who gets the bench if your Fr8 stay the same? Good luck.

I'm not sure about getting rid of Crarroll, Stoke are awful at the back and I think people might be over estimating Shawcross being able to have Caroll in his back pocket, Carroll was unlucky to have a header cleared off the line and he also had a great chance in the first half against Utd. I didn't see the Swansea game but I heard he was unlucky not to get a few points.

I'd prioritise getting rid of Defoe/Mahrez/Townsend.

Yeah, good call re: Darmian, thinking Lanzini but nothing concrete yet.

I think you have to go balls deep in El Zilcho to get full value though :)

I wouldn't get rid of Mahrez personally, he could have had double figures last week and his best scores this season have come away from home. I'd fancy him against that Chelsea defence.

Very busy this week and slightly undermotivated after shíte GW37.

Given the narrow margins in several money leagues (one point behind in main one) I don't want to do too many hits, although as I proved last week sometimes not taking the hit can cost you heavily.

My opponent who is 1 point ahead has a very strong team for 38, double United and Arsenal defence, KdB, Aguero, Deeney, Hazard, Defoe. I only have Bellerin and Aguero from that list. I don't think I can catch him.

He hasn't got Sanchez but if he's wise he'll do KdB to Sanchez as a blocker.

I'm thinking of doing the following for -4.

    Sturridge to Giroud.
    Alli to Mata.

    That would leave me with:

    Mannone (probably no keeper)
Bellerin, Rose, PVA (Cresswell to sub in)
    Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez, Mata (Spacecraft)
    Giroud, Aguero,Carroll

Reading the threads is making me consider keeping Carroll, he's probably note worth -4 to shift anyway. Mata is my gut, Mane/Tadic would make sense too.

    Any thoughts?

    Other Alli replacements?
Keep Carroll or transfer for-4 taking me to -8?
If keeping Carroll bench him or Andros?
    Start PVA or Cresswell?

BTW, captaincy wise I'm leaning towards Giroud....help me!!

Am i alone in thinking that Spacecraft might go on the rampage against Spurs?

One last throw of the dice against his old team and selfishly trying to get on the plane for the Euros

Point taken so, Carroll stays. Defoe goes and Long/deeney in. Townsend out too but too Tadic maybe If I get deeney in

Think I'm going to get Martial in and leave it at that. Means having to play Townsend but not sure a -4 for either Hazard or KDB would be worth it especially when I'm defending a lead rather than chasing.

That's put a sliver of doubt in my mind but gonna ignore i think and press ahead with Giroud & Tadic in for Lanzini & Sturridge

The Prodston Punt Algorithm team for GW38 has Walters ahead of Mata :)

    Sturridge to Giroud - yes

Alli to a saints midfielder - Mane ?

Have just enough for Firmino and Defoe to KDB and Giroud for a -4.
Would have to do it tonight it seems. Who am I kidding, I'm waiting 'till Sunday lunchtime no doubt.

No I'm. With you on that one. I'm confidently playing him and expecting attacking returns.
    Fhfc I'd play townsend.

I had 6 players on Tuesday night. After the game I was in second in my money league - 96 points off the leader (from 62 points the week before). I had already given up on attempting to win the league but that was disappointing. He had only 3 players in the match but one was TC Payet as opposed to my C Payet.
    Him: 74 points
    Me: 38 points

Roll on wednesday night. He had 2 and I had 4. Some display by PVA, Deeney and Hazard meant that I gained ground.
He ended up losing 2 points to end up on 72
I gained 57 points ending up on 95.

I am now 32 points behind him going into the final gw.
Logic tells me it will not be possible but I have found renewed hope. I have 2 man utd and 2 arsenal in defense while he has 1 of each.
The thing is that he has both Ageuro and Kane both of which are going for golden boot. I have carroll and deeney.
Was going to swap Carrol for Kane but it would need a -4. Already swapped Fabergas to Tadic to even be able to afford the hit (and I think Tadic will outscore Fabergas).

    Question is:
Should I take a hit to swap Carroll for Kane - who he has. Or should I keep Carroll as a differential. Kane would need to get 1 and bonus points to justify the hit with Carroll getting nothing. It would also mean that whatever Kane scores I will get 4 less than him.
Think I have convinced myself out of taking the hit but would love to hear why I should.

Finally, if you are out there Mr. Prodston, I have to say you are a massive LEGEND. I only got PVA because of you. :D

    ^^
Same here...I am now literally a PVA ahead going into the final GW.

Deffo wouldn't have had him without this forum......if only I'd had the cojones to go cojones deep and Triple Captain him as well

    Ah bollocks!! :(
I volunteered to work tomorrow as I could work from home and watch the matches at the same time. Just realised that the last games are on Sunday and not tomorrow.
I make the same mistake every year. :P

Third post in quick succession. Wouldnt normally do it but am curious if you are going to play him?
Would you play him ahead of Smalling, Berellin, Kos?

BTW, I am a Newcastle supporter so it goes to show how valued this forum is that I would even select PVA :D

Im a spurs supporter and since the wind was taken out of our sails with the wba 1-1 draw we have become very flat. The players look jaded against Southampton last week.
It just depends how bad you think newcastle are going to be. Any way you can get Aguero in fir Carroll instead?

The thing is that PVA is the most attacking fullback I've ever seen, has a proven record of actually chipping in with goals and what not, plays in a Sam Allardyce team that has a history of finishing strongly. Oh and takes occasional set pieces.

The crazy thing would be to ignore those facts. There's method to my madness usually. Not to be confused with my stubborn streak of ignoring in form players :pac:

Firmino --> Mane my last transfer of the season.
Going 352 with Carroll benched and Townsend starting.

My defence isn't hectic (Gabriel, Lovern, PVA, Morgan, Evans) so PVA deffo in my starting line-up...whether he'll be in Big Sams team is another thing.

Would play PVA alongside rather than instead of Utd or Arsenal defenders this weekend if I had your options
