Does anyone know what "Xyzal" is called in Canada?

Xyzal (levocetirizine) "is a third-generation non-sedative antihistamine", and I'm wondering if anyone knows what it's called in Canada? Currently, I get it on prescription, but shall be going to Canada shortly, and shall need it whilst over there. Have asked the pharmacy that I currently get it from, but they don't know if I'd need a prescription whilst over there or not to get it.

Did a search for it in;
costco.comrexall.ca
rexall.ca
shoppersdrugmart.ca

But couldn't find it. Thuis, before I emailed them, I thought I'd check if it's called anything else, or if I'd need a prescription for it?

I had a look in the Martindale which lists product names for drugs in different countries but it doesn't list any levocetirizine products for Canada. It does list Xyzal as being available in the USA. There may possibly be some mechanism to obtain this in Canada but a pharmacy there may be able to answer that question for definite.

Cool. Have emailed a ShoppersDrugmart pharmacy close to where I will be located when I move to Canada to see if they sell it.

Got a reply back, and seems they sell something called "Cetirizine which is sold under the brand Reactine or our Life Brand equivalent", and prescription isn't needed.

Glad to hear you got a reply. Cetirizine is actually a different (though very closely related) drug to levocetirizine, so it may have a different effect on you then Xyzal. It's available without a prescription here too under brand names like Cetriz, Cetrine, Zirtek if you wanted to try it out before you head over or try and chase up levocetirizine from another pharmacy there.
