Quake 3 Problem

This is getting increasingly annoying, not to mention frequent... Q3 just dumps me straight back to windows (usually in the middle of an enjoyable game). No error messages. nothing. Just the desktop. Any ideas?

i used to get the odd crash, was my gfx drivers, make sure you've the most uptodate ones for the v3 installed
