Not sure if the right place to post, just wondering if any of you has ever tried or has heard of anyone removing skys software from its box and adding Linux, android etc. I have 1 that I'm not using and was up for divilment. It obviously has some kind of CPU, Ram and plenty of storage so has the core fundamentals to run an OS

way too ambitious. Normal Windows is just for IBM compatible PC's. A different version is for phone and tablets or phablets which is where phones and tablets overlap. Embedded windows is another thing again but end users need not apply.

SKY hardware is pretty locked down too.

You can get any number of satellite boxes running Linux though.
