Poor signal quality on one frequency (Mt Leinster)

    Howdy folks,

Recently I bought a new TV with a built in Saorview tuner, making my old box redundant. I have the aerial in the attic and on the old box I could receive the Satellite channels and Saorview channels no bother. My nearest transmitter is Mt Leinster

When I went to tune in the channels on my new TV, the satellite channels are fine (BBC, Channel 4 etc), the Saorview channels on frequency 514 MHz (RTE 1, 3e etc) are fine, but the channels on frequency 490 MHz are coming in with a bad picture quality. I receive the channels (RTE 2 etc) and full EPG, but the picture and sound is scratchy, signal strength is 50% and signal quality is 0%

I find it strange as one frequency is grand but the other isnt, even though they are coming from the same transmitter.

Anybody have any tips on this?

    ^^^

Check interference from transformer power blocks (for phones) etc near the TV. If I plug in a phone charger/mains transformer near my TV I get picture breakup immediately. Turn off the socket and perfect picture....

Check you connections between aerial and TV, ensure they're intact. Also check aerial alignment in the attic, if not correctly aligned one frequency can perform better than another.
