Why is recaldent/etc only available on prescription from dentists? The promotional stuff about it online makes it sound extremely safe, the benefits sound great - so why only by prescription?

Will have looked into the ingredients and am yet to find an answer to your question. There are no warnings. It's expensive stuff, the research is reasonable good and results are pretty good in the right circumstances.

Is it that your dentist needs to be aware that you're using it incase it masks deep decay? Or just that the producers haven't started pushing it in the Irish market yet?

I bought it numerous times before off Amazon Uk and never needed a prescription.
That's 2-3 years ago mind you.
I stopped using it as it didn't seem to be having any effect.
