Is there not some meeting in May about Japan possibly being seeded so it will be Top 7 + Japan?
    Or did I imagine that

I posted about that last week. It was discussed on the bbc 6n coverage

Check out the SRU facebook page, particularly the article about the u-18 squad. Some guy's mother has gone on a rant as he wasn't picked apparently it's due to him not being from a rugby school according to her. She's gone full on, even insinuating that as she's English, he has "options". Classic reply states as he's currently not good enough for the Scottish squad he won't make the English.

She's doing him absolutely no favours here, the guy will be mortified reading it.

Have just seen this. Love the people pointing out how many kids are actually in the team from State Schools. Also her claim that he should be in the team because another parent told her the kick he did in one match would have got him MOTM if he'd been playing an International.

Reminds me of the mother from The Goldbergs,

If they want full strength squads it ain't going to happen.

The only time it did happen, Brive v Auckland Blues in 97, was because the HEC finished in January and the Super 12 started in February/March.

If they put the money forward, they'll get full strength squads!

Mils Muiliana (spelling that wrong, I'm sure) has signed up to play for the San Francisco team in the US Pro League.

Hope he can put the doors back on.

He spent a few years in the RFU working on their academy structures, I think, so hopefully he'll do more than just coach the Senior team but help the overall structure and coaching work better.

Ex-Ulsterman Pedrie Wannenburg and former Italy international Mirco Bergamasco have also signed up to play in the US next season, and ex-Munsterman Pete Borlase will be assistant-coaching (and possibly playing, he's not very old, especially by prop standards) one of the teams, can't remember which though.

Are all the Summer tests going to be on Sky Sports? Ireland, England and Wales?

Was looking into it and it would cost me €50 to get Sky Sports HD for the month of June and then €10 to get it removed again. So €60 in total.

If all the matches are on Sky and I was to watch them all I suppose it works out cheap enough per match?

    http://www.punditarena.com/rugby/adrumm/new-zealand-rugby-union-set-abandon-law-changes/

The New Zealand Rugby Union were set to trial a number of World Rugby’s proposed law changes.

When World Rugby announced that a number of law variations would be trialled this year, supporters were both both surprised and interested in equal measure.

Since it was announced that the scoring system would be altered so that a try would be worth six points and penalties two, debate has raged as to whether or not the initiative would foster attacking rugby.

While the Welsh Rugby Union have at least introduced the scoring system in the Principality Premiership, their counterparts in New Zealand have decided to abandon it before the beginning of the new ITM Cup season.

Marler's hearing set for April 8th by World Rugby.

Wonder if they'll actually do anything to set an example or is them being seen to investigate it the example they're setting?

April 8th is a bizarre date to have it on.

It's a Friday and Quinn's play in the Challenge Cup QF's the next day.

Sorry, it's the 5th not the 8th, I pressed the wrong button. Damn sausage fingers!

Johan Goosen's has apparently signed a four year extension, meaning he is currently contracted for 4 years + the two months or so he has left. Afaik he's now got the longest contract in rugby history.

I've been saying for some time now that rugby is slipping towards football style contracting. This is a real development in the game.

Not even the first out half to sign a four year deal, didn't Biggar sign one?

Well, that puts paid to Munster signing him anyway.

Ah, I meant to specify with a completely private club as opposed to a union central contract / dual contract.

QUick question here on the whole World Rugby thing with Marler.

Can they impose a ban that applies to any competition he plays in?

I don't think the approach is much different to be honest between the two types of employers. It's in theory the least attritional position (as long as you aren't Sexton or Wilkinson) so poses least risk for a long-term commitment.
