We will most likely get more crap that im not interested in. Some people are interested in indy games but enough is enough already.

The Wolf Among Us is very enjoyable, played it on Vita

Great offering from Games with Gold next month, delighted I have both consoles hopefully this will shame Sony into offering something decent next month!

Impressed by Galak-Z. I must have ignored the reviews at the time, because my god it's punishingly difficult in a way I wasn't expecting at all - but mostly in a good way. Trophies show something like 6% of players have reached the second set of levels :pac: (which, incidentally, is exactly when the game pulls off a delightful mechanical twist). The only major issue I'd have with it is that the maps can be pretty bland, but that's offset by the compelling risk/reward drive of seeking out the upgrades and the constant tension of pushing your luck to try and reach the goal. By the time you reach the final missions of an episode, battles are immense as you try to protect every hit point you have left. The Saturday cartoon / anime aesthetic works great too - especially in the amazing 'end of episode' title cards.

Also played through Broforce, which is fine for what it is - a knowingly ridiculous explosion fest. But it's a good indicator of how performance woes can really let the experience down. That lack of polish definitely puts a damper on an experience that is otherwise a solid and at times pleasingly modern take on the 2D shooters of old.

Well you're getting Dead Star for sure as one of the games, it is like a poor mans Galak-Z with better graphics.

Microsoft killing it again with GWG. Im glad my PS+ sub is out next month, definitely wont be renewing until it changes. Since I play mostly single player games, its no contest between the best free games.

I guess this is just how the market works, 360 was dominant last gen and PS3 tried to fight back with the great value on plus, this gen it's vice versa.

Sony have been ripping off PS4 users since launch with this service, time to give us something substantial. Infamous Second Son is two years old now, that would be a good start (even though I own it)

I remember being a 360 player and being so jealous of the games that came with PS+, now I'm on PS4 and...

Xbox were already killing it with GWG, but backwards compatibility offers them a whole generations back catalogue to use too.

Very jealous, would love to play through Dead Space again.

Personally, I haven't selected a ps+ game since helldivers and before that it was probably rocket League. It's usually always platform games which bore me. Bro force and super meat boy...they just don't look appealing.

Ps plus is got only to play online. Sony could do with throtling their download times with my 50 euro a year and forget the free games altogether really

have to admit right now Xbox Live free games is wiping the floor with PSN free games. Soon need to up their game soon with psn+, it was such a better service back in the ps3 days.

Even if they were to respond to the GWG games it wouldn't be this month, due to late notice and they're usually late enough getting games as it is.

Thinking I might flog the PS4 at this point, I dont use it enough. An Xbox with the GWG might suit my casual needs better.

Sold mine a few weeks back, couldn't cope with the noise it made. Completely put me off playing certain games especially The Witcher.

The Last Guy wipes the floor with all those games...

Bro Force is brilliant I'm still playing it

Sunset Overdrive was released in October 2014 and is now on GWG, while neither Knack or KZSF (both from 2013) have been on Plus yet. Remind me again of that old excuse we see here every month, something about it being too early in the PS4 lifecycle to be putting triple a titles on plus??

Doesn't really wash anymore now does it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,399 ✭✭✭Vyse

The XBox offerings are killing the PS Plus offerings at the moment. It's been a while since PS Plus has been superior (it dominated the last generation). I understand that people enjoy the indie/ smaller titles (I don't personally) but every month:(:( It should be mixed up a bit.

I was pretty stoked with Galak-Z and Broforce tbh.
Sunset Overdrive is a nice get though, almost bought it the other day, so good save for me!

I don't get the hype around Broforce at all

TWAU is the best game in GWG this month, by a long shot, and its still something I'd consider niche, if I only had a few hours a week gaming they wouldn't be spent on it.

Does GWG still give free games for 360 members? I'd assume the 360 games like Dead Space and SR4 are offered for it too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,363 ✭✭✭✭DARK-KNIGHT

Games with gold is certainly giving great value but look each to their own everyone has their own tastes gaming wise

For me I have both so either way win win but some of the ps plus titles have been quality andXbox gave some utter ****e as well crimson Dragon stands out as one of the worst games I have ever played and I'm gaming30 years

Don't have a Xbox but my understanding is that the games are 360 games that are BC on Xbox one. So yeah they're playable on both 360 and Xbox One

I don't get how this thread seems to be all about gwg last day or so instead of discussing the positive to ps+ I for one am looking forward to seeing what's on offer next month

The reason is that one service at the moment seems to be killing the other in terms of quality and value for money. When both of them cost a monthly/yearly subscription, it's only fair that parallels are drawn between them in terms of quality, and PS4 is losing.

We can hope that Sony might surprise us with the April choices, but at this stage it's like expecting monthly chocolates and getting a kick in the bollix instead. You hope it will change but it doesn't. In their eyes, a kick in the bollix is less expensive than a box of chocolates.

As a subscriber to both services Sony really need to get the finger out at this stage.

Honestly thinking of not bothering to renew Plus, I don't play online so uploading saves and the games are the only things I get out of it.

Comparing them makes perfect sense. But putting one down completely because the games being given is not to your gaming taste is just lazy posting imo

the number of gamers tastes catered to by playstations "free" games is certainly dwindling fast, seems the masses are finally seeing the light

Very clever move by Sony a few years back introducing plus for those who wanted to pay offering good games and discounts.... Along comes ps4, make plus mandatory people say don't worry they give great games it's no big deal well worth it, and they give out pacman and c64 greatest hits! All the while their servers struggle to stay up and a couple of kids with a decent pc knowledge can bring it down anytime they like,

It's nothing to do with tastes, it's the fact GWG are now giving AAA titles while Plus are all still indie games. It's the value of what you are getting in return.

I wouldn't be into Knack at all but it would be a step in the right direction with Sony providing AAA games on Plus.

It's not that the games aren't to my taste, it's that I've played most of them in some incarnation or other over the last 20 years. For the fact I'm paying a subscription for this service, I would at the very least expect one game per month I might actually spend 10,15 maybe 20 quid on in Gamestop if I spotted it on a shelf.

Instead we get month after month of throwaway titles and the indie obsession is never-ending. It's cool you've done a game in 16 bit pixels but guess what? There's 10000 other games that did that before you over the past couple of decades.

By a quick look at the lists, Xbox One has gotten about 5 AAA games, and the PS4 has gotten around 7, GWG is cleaning up because of the backwards compatibility. The PS3 titles have been just as good as the 360 ones imo, the XOne have been crap. Assassins Creed was the last good AAA that XOne got that Sony haven't already given away, and surely Rocket League makes up for that. Sunset Overdrive is an obvious exception as its exclusive.

    Wrong.

    Let me list the big games they've given away for free since that;

    Tomb Raider Definitive Ed.
    Thief
    Killer Instinct
    Sherlock Holmes
    Lords of the fallen
