Anyone here with experience of a six string banjo? I play guitar so am considering playing around with a six string banjo.. Is there a nice banjo sound from them or are they just a funny sounding six string guitar?

Have looked on YouTube but haven't found much in the way to convince me either way

I bought a 6 string banjo while drunk one night. It sounds like a banjo, but it plays like a guitar. Can't say it's a good banjo, but it does what I wanted.

They're ok, good for adding a bit of a new sound to your mix. I think you get more of a banjo vibe from them if you use an open tuning (G or D) rather than standard guitar tuning.
