Anyone managed to get blackbox for ios working outside your Lan? Can stream stuff on lan but unable to connect to box using my ddns service. I can connect to box (webif) via browser but unable to connect using blackbox.

    Anyone had any joy?

It sounds like you haven't opened ports 8001/8002 on your router.

Try opening a stream from WebIf using VLC. It'll probably give an error, it should contain the port number of the stream address it's trying to open (and failing).

    Hi,

I've no issues streaming on lan. I can also access webif outside just can't stream outside lan. Have no ip setup for this but doesn't work. I think it's an issue with blackbox as it works OK on lan but not outside. I can access webif outside, epg, bouquets etc just can't stream.

BIt off topic, but my Xtrend ET8000 has started to become laggy every now and again. Example would be going through channels I press down and it could take 2 secs for it to go down.

It doesn't happen all the time but is happening more frquently now. Should I have swap enabled?

    RBobbyT28

You shouldn't need swap because the high spec. Try disable to picons in the list if you have them to see if it's a problem with the read on your hard drive. Other than that you'll have to troubleshoot. A reflash might be the quickest way to sort it.

    Hi,
I just ordered an Xtrend 8000 from WOS and I'm hoping it arrives before my cancelled Sky Sub kicks in.
Quick question about these boxes please ?
I've ordered the one with 1 x sat tuner and 1 x terrestrial (saorview) tuner.
Will the OpenVix EPG have all of the free to air UK channels and the Irish Saorview channels grouped together or will I have to press the change input button on the remote to switch between them ?

All on the one list if you want them to be.

    Hi lads,

Is the Amiko Alien Mini HD any good? I'm a noob when it comes to these boxes.

not as good as enigma2 boxes that have more support and less problems.

I got myself a TM-Nano-3T a couple of days ago, It's a big change from the Amiko mini combo that I was using.
It came with OpenVix already on it and I'm just wondering if someone could point me to a good setup guide?

I like the Alien Mini HD ,its a really stable receiver.
I use it in my kitchen .
It doesnt have as much support as other E2 receivers that's true but for picture quality it simply cannot be beaten.

    Hi,

Bit off topic again but threads been quite for a while.

I've noticed recently that recordings are stopping before the show finishes. Which the wife is not impressed with and TBH its starting to be really annoying.

Anyone having an issue like this?

I am running latest Openvix on ET8000 (Not openvix4.4 released today).

I must be doing something wrong but I am doing the same thing as I have always done.

    Regards,
    BobbyT28

Make sure you have margin after recording setup

Setup > System > Recording and playback settings

World of Satellite in the UK currently have the Technomate Nano 2 Super reduced to clear at £149 or ~187 euro.
Excellent price for a 1.3ghz Broadcom twin tuner .

Looking for a recommendation on an enigma 2 box.
I currently have dvb-s2 tuners in a pc, and use kodi to access the tuners from the various tvs. I am looking for a unit with a card reader that can also be viewed through kodi (which I understand enigma2 can be). I will only need a single tuner (for now at least), but I will want the unit to be reliable.
What would be the best value unit for my needs? Also, what sort of processing power/ram should I be looking for?

Would you not go the few quid more and get the twin tuner. The Technomate mentioned earlier in the thread is excellent value.

I set up an xtrend et8000 for a friend, some difference between that and the alien2. Can't wait until I get one for myself.

    in what way?

    in what way?

First of all the remote control is very responsive and doesn't have to be pointed directly at the box. Browsing the menus is really quick just like a sky box. Time shift on HD channels while recording another HD channel was seamless. Its just a beast of a box that has the resources to run enigma the way it is meant to, I can't describe it any better than that.
