    Indeed. I hadn't thought of Israel until I saw that. Then it seemed obvious. :cool:

    Anyway.... I'll take a general sort of geographical area for this, but if you can narrow it down feel free.

    Was fairly surprised at Isreal too, but it makes sense.

    EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure now that I look at the map that it names the place properly.... so a clue. There used to be something here and now it's not there but is somewhere else further south.

    It's just outside Keeler in the Owens Valley and in the picture is Owens Lake which used to look like this.... (lake in background, taken from Calico Ghost Town)

    Wait..... I've got that completely wrong :D

    I was looking for a picture of the lake before it was drained and Google kept giving me that picture from the Ghost Town.... but it's miles away?

    Regardless, Mojave and Death Valley were pretty close, so Fred Swanson still wins.

    That old picture is from here, which is Cerro Gordo Peak but was obviously mislabeled as the ghost town place.. My bad :)

    You can still see how the lake is gone though...
