    Around Beaufort's house.;)

Beauforts Dyke I know as I visited the area for a study many years ago. That trip went with a bang. I'll let others guess.

Dublin Bus?? Great question and no idea. Guess 1200.

I reckon you have it Srameen, but will leave it for the others. Dublin bus guess not bad but not really close enough.:)

No idea about Beaufort's Dyke, maybe somewhere in Wales? Dublin Bus have loads of buses, but if you want a number I will just guess 3,252! :)

    No, JB, way too many!

I have the idea that it's somewhere around the 900 mark.

Give the man a coconut! They claim 950. Over to you Garancafan.

Still looking for the Beaufort's Dyke answer. Srameen did give a good clue in his answer, dive in and make a guess!

I will inflict give Srameen the prize of having to think of another clue if no-one gets it today :D

    Cobh

Beat me to it Srameen, so just to be on the safe side I will say Cork - Shandon.

Spot on Srameen. With its 49 bells Cobh cathedral's carillon is the largest in Britain and Ireland.

What are Anadama, Bammy, Hallulla, Proja and Taftan?

I hope I've spelt them right.

They sound like coded landing spots for an invasion. However I have no idea though they sound a bit slightly familiar, maybe my brain will have found the answer by tomorrow.

I've heard of some of them. Not sure where.

Are they types of grain used to make bread?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,748 ✭✭✭✭looksee

Ha! only just spotted the clue Steve, I reckon you could be right. Good one Srameen!

I see what you thought was a clue but it wasn't.

    They are not grains.

    Ahh pity! :p

No but Steve just needs a bit more conviction.

    Water? Water?

    Well you might :D

No. Steve was close but didn't say it.

You wouldn't be splitting hairs between grain and flour, would you, Srameen :D

Good Lord, No. Because grain and flour are not quite there yet.

    ;)

Well I think that only leaves one answer so I will leave it for Steve since he set us on the path...

You're right. Steve stumbled on it. They are all Breads.

    All yours Steve.

Bammy rang a bell but the others didn't. Never would have guessed bread. Interesting question.

So we need a question from Steve and the answer to Beauforts Dyke, which I know Srameen knows but we didn't get the answer spelled out. So...its the deep ditch in the Irish Sea between Scotland and Northern Ireland, in which large quantities of defunct explosives (or if they were not, they are now) have been dumped. Then we wonder where all the fish have gone!

So, Question: the nightshade (belladonna) family of plants are known for being poisonous, and yet we eat parts of them. Can anyone name three that we eat quite frequently?

Solanaceae family. Spuds, Tomato, Aubergine, Tobacco, Chilli....
