When I was a kid I remember seeing some guy on tv who held the world record for balancing coins on your elbow, flipping them and catching them without dropping any. I was impressed, tried it, and found I could get reasonably close. So I practiced for days, and finally managed to flip and catch the exact number the guy on tv did. I think I was around 9. So I was kinda unofficial joint world record holder.

It may not be an achievement in your eyes but it is an achievement if your uncle is an alcoholic. That's a bit like saying overcoming depression isn't an achievement for the person.

A Spanish girl with a full-time job telling me she 'contributed' at home by buying her own shampoo and lactose-free milk. Giving out about her friends whose parents support them. She's 27. When I was 23, I was living abroad, on my own and she wanted a pat on the back for buying her own shampoo. :eek:

That said, 6 days is a long time for an alcoholic to be off the booze. I wouldn't p1ss over that achievement, I'd just encourage him to keep going.
