Dublin Mac/printer home tech support/callout?

My Dad needs help with his Mac (I live abroad). Specifically, his printer died, and of course the new one needs the next level up of OS X - he needs to bump from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 to install the printer drivers. And the 10.6 update can't be downloaded, it needs to be done from a DVD (and he wouldn't be able to do it anyway). So - I'm looking for a trustworthy, reliable someone to go to his home (Sandymount) and sort this out for him - upgrade the OS, install all relevant printer/scanner drivers, ensure everything's working again and maybe a brief lesson on how to use this new printer. Since the OS update would likely take hours, maybe it's best if someone collects the laptop and takes it away for the upgrade? Anyway, he can pay for the service and would be very grateful Any suggestions?

If you can provide the spec of his Mac I may be able to help. It's possible that given his current OS that he has a legacy machine with a PPC rather than an Intel processor and that the current driver for his new printer may simply not work on it.

Most current drivers simply won't work with older PPC processors.

Thanks for the offer Ken. Yeah, it's a PowerPC model all right (1.25Ghz Powerbook), but the HP driver supports 10.6.8, which is the last version of the OS that would run on that platform. Gonna give him my Intel Core 2 Duo next time I get home. I think I've got someone sorted out to go 'round to him now, but I really appreciate your offer to help.
