After avoiding Aguero this past GW, I don't think I can do it again even though his favourite opponents Spurs are much more solid than usual. Dawson flagged, so I could see Lukaku tearing apart WBA but he'll have to settle for VC.

City are missing a lot of attacking players silva kdb navas and nasri. If those 4 are all out I'll probably go with sanchez.

Relying on the likes of Sterling to supply Aguero doesn't sit with me so i too will pass on Aguero.

This is a week where I honestly haven't a clue. Aguero is playing with a City team who looked toothless without their better attacking players on Saturday, against a Spurs team who look continually excellent defensively. Kane does not get the nod this week.

Sanchez has blanked twice now since returning, didn't look at all convincing yesterday and is up against a Leicester side who have now a legitimate claim to being the best in the league. Still difficult to give Vardy or Mahrez the nod in this fixture though.

With 5 of my front 7 playing in those 2 games, it only leaves Firmino and Payet. With Firmino on great form and away to (an admittedly improved) bottom of the league side, and Payet off form but away to the worst side in the Premier League on form, and with there being other players that others will have that I don't (Lukaku being a key one), I can't see any one player having more than 25% of the poll here.

Right now I might still be edging towards Aguero.

I'll see how he gets on against Liverpool, if he shows signs of improvement, I'll prob captain him, he has been very disappointing his last 3 gameweeks and considering he played 90 mins against 10 men for the Villa/Southamton games, it's a bit worrying he didn't get a goal or an assist.

Aguero. Even though I benefitted from captaining Firmino this week, I fear inconsistency and returning Liverpool attackers. I'd love to captain Payet if not for his poor form.

Have to give it to Aguero given his record against Spurs - though not overly confident given Spurs good form and solidity in defense. Lukaku and Payet good punts also

A bit of context (*) first.
City play Spurs. Then Sagna should play. And Kolarov benched. So:

    1. captain Kolarov (*),
    2. open the box for selecting your VC,
    3. close your eyes,
    4. randomly select your VC,
    5. open your eyes,
    6. put your VC at the very best in the second position on your bench.
    ...
    7. come thank me on Sunday eve when Kolarov will have indeed been benched and the first player on your bench will have injured himself during warmimg up and your VC is autosubbing in with 2 extra time goals, 3 BPs etc...

(*) Apply to a similar situation if you don't own Kolarov. If you find no match, you're not playing it right this year :pac:.

Lukaku, though as I spurs fan I have genuine Aguero fear.

Punt on Firmino worked out nicely last week, will be taking one on Rooney this week and hoping he can do the same damage to Sunderland!

    Ozil or Mahrez.

Okay, I'm back to using stats to back up my captain choice. This will end well. Tottenham have the best defensive record in the league this season, only conceding 19 from 25 games, including 9 clean sheets. Only 3 matches they have conceded 2 goals (2 of these at home, 1 away), they have never conceded more than 2 in a game this season. With KDB and possibly Silva gone, I don't see a high scoring game. No Aguero captain for me :)

It's on Payet at the moment for me :)

I'll be going for Payet id say.

all of the evidence from tonight and his last 2 games screams NO
but my heart says maybe :)

    late assist for payet.......

    Sanchez all the way.

OK, I know he's been off the boil lately, but that was also the case before he scored the hat-trick in his last outing against Leicester.

Plus this is a make or break game for the gunners and they're at home. Both teams will be going for it. I'm expecting a goal-fest.

Leicester (and Arsenal) have tightened up significantly since that game. I can't see another 5-2.
    Aguero(c) for me.

Until I seen the table at the weekend, I almost forgot how few goals spurs have conceded given my constant frustration with Dier conceding 1 and losing a clean sheet.

Going with Costa myself for a differential.

If I hadn't have bought him I'd be captaining a defender this week, no options for me in attack. :pac:

I'm using stats as well, players last 6 game points plus the amount their opponents have conceded in the last 6 , gives me a captain of Wayne Rooney, sure why not? Surprised he's not in the poll.
