Probably down to there being so much sport on today, rugby, GAA and golf.
Great day for sport on t.v.

    Mmm perhaps.... ;-)

The fact that we weren't too convincing but still won also helped.
We will want to play a lot better against Leicester if we are to get the 3 points.

Even if we beat Leicester next week, they have a much handier run in than ourselves or City.

Yes agreed not that convincing.though I thought we looked better as a defensive unit than recently I thought. Cech had very little to do until the last few minutes.

    Sterner test next week.

I don't believe Leicester have the handiest run-in. Much of a muchness.
There are plenty of teams there capable of taking points from them i.e. Watford whose game won't suit them. Plus they are away to Chelsea on the final day and Chelsea will want to beat the pretenders if that still applies.

They could but think Chelsea might roll over for them if its down to ourselves and Leicester on the last day. Funnily enough, in the exact same fixtures played so far this year, ourselves and Leicester have 29 points each.

Surprised you left out Spurs fixtures. We have to go to them too.

Thats just the tweet I saw. I know they have us and United at home and have to go to City, Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham and Stoke. Id be worried about them but thats a tough enough run in.

The man is just a rediculous talent. With an in-form/fit Alexis and an upgrade on Grioud (who I love, fwiw), we'd be walking this league thanks to him (and Cech; the man is a hero). Wouldn't even need a proper right-sided winger, which we badly need to go to the next level IMO.

Ah feels so much better on a Monday morning when we have won:)

Were back in it for sure, few players coming back and ox getting a goal.

Next week's game is the biggest by far this year. Far bigger than the Barc game coming up.

AW must have Gabriel penciled in for the Leicester and gave him a a run out at the weekend to get minutes under his belt. Makes sense due to the counter-attacking speed of Leicester

Mert hasn't been seen since Chelsea sending off, wonder is Wenger not happy with him.

I think it's more that Gabriel deserves a go and Wenger is seeing whether he can forge a decent partnership with Kos.

Also seems strange that he has basically shut Theo out. Would be surprised if he features next weekend now.

Have to say I was surprised he didn't bring him on early...Sometimes Wengers sub's really baffle me

Campbell and Ox are offering more atm. It's great to be in a position where Wenger is in a position to make these choices.

I was thinking the same, but Giroud is handy for defending corners, despite him looking disinterested for the last ten minutes. Walcott has been as woeful as Chamberlain for the last two months to me, I still don't get why people think he should be ahead of Giroud. But I wouldn't be surprised if Walcott starts against Leicester given his performance against them earlier on.

Yes he seems to have gone very cautious once we have a lead. 2 defensive minded substitutions again yesterday. Bringing Walcott on for Giroud after about 60 would have either forced Bournemouth back or enabled us to exploit all the space they were leaving in defence.

He is too good for this current crop of Arsenal players. I would say at times hes looking around himself saying what the **** am I playing with :pac: Probably the only player at the club now who would of walked into our invincibles side.

On another note, yesterday was Petr Cechs 12th clean sheet, more than any other keeper in the league this year. What a signing he has been.

I thought leaving Flamini on for the full game was risky enough yesterday, we could have easily finished with 10 men

I agree he's been woeful, but as you said Giroud wasn't looking interesting at all in the last 15 mins and as there was lots of space to exploit in BFC's half Walcott would have been handier and may be a goal would help him too.

Nice win, great to see the players man up and stop the slide.
Keep the pressure on. And I liek the fact Wenger made some decisions and took some actions, rather than just wash,rinse,repeat...

Watched the Super Bowl. whats that got to do with Arsenal..
well Denver won beacuse of their defense, its interesting how important a rock solid defense is. If you get your defense right its a platform to win something. Anyone recall how we got on when we had a great defense.
Did someone mention Peter Cechs 12th clean sheet.

Anyways dont mind all that, great season , really enjoying its twists and turns, reminds me of the 70s and 80s.

Walcott needs a spell on the bench, it might learn him that consistent mediocre performances arent good enough for title challengers. It will also send out a signal to others who think there position is guaranteed.

Walcott has been far from a guaranteed starter for years.

The thing is that Wenger calls him a striker. There was all this carry on about him being a striker and fighting Giroud for the striker role. Now I must admit, I was all for Walcott playing on the right with Giroud down the middle, but it hasn't worked.

Some of our best performances this season were with Theo up the middle, and we have been pretty toothless of late. Based on this alone, I would have expected him to be given at least a run out on Sunday.

Hes not a striker. He hasn't got that strikers instinct of being in the right place at the right time, nor does he possess that nack of scoring goals from a half chance. Its been awhile since we had that in our side, going all the way back to maybe Eduardo. All top teams have that in there side which we do not. Walcott is a winger and a very average one at that, playing him up top is pointless imo, it would be like Utd trying to play Ashley Young up front or City sticking Navas up top. It just wont work.

Surely Cech would give Lehmann a run for his money too. Loved Lehmann btw, very good keeper.

Loved Lehmann myself. His penalty save in a Champs Lge semi final against one of the games best dead ball specialists in Juan Roman Riquelme was what I will always remember him for. I near jumped out of me top window when he saved that. But agree that Cech would be up there with him if not ahead of him.

The way you're talking you'd swear youve never seen him up front before. He looked nothing but dangerous playing striker. Has shown he can score from a half chance (goal against city, although he was playing on the wing), he created a lot of chances and really complimented Alexis and Ozil quite well imo.

He's far better suited to some games than Giroud would be and vice versa.

Was just looking at Giroud's stats from yesterday and then the rest of the team in general.

By the way, now is a good time to look away if you are still feeling positive after yesterday.

Giroud only received 11 passes in the final third yesterday, two in the box, one of which became the assist for Ozil.

Sanchez received 38 passes in the final third yesterday, three in the box. Approx half of those passes seem to have been on the wing, not in a particularly dangerous area.

Overall, we only had 5 shots on target of 10 taken and 8 successful passes in the box and 1 successful cross (we had 98 out of 144 successful passes in the final third in total).

I know it's great to get the win, and in a way that's all that matters, but those type of stats are worrying considering the opposition.

It would be pretty different if we hadn't gone 2-0 up. Look at the stats from the Southampton match, where we were always chasing a winner.
