But for years we have been told we cant win the league because we cant compete financially with City, Chelsea and United. So to see Leicester storm to a 6 point lead while its the same old with us, its hard to take. Its also hard to believe and accept that we are playing and being managed to our maximum potential.

Leicester have had a miraculous season. You can't use an outlier like that to disprove the financial truth. If Leicester don't win the league this season they'll probably end up flirting with relegation again next season.

Too many high paid players that are not performing to their "supposed" level

I don't know who could be singled out though. There's nobody who has been starting that has been badly, per se. Walcott is the only one I would single out, everyone else is playing reasonably well. Things aren't just going our way.

On another note, just flicked on the Tottenham match. It was 0-0, but by the time my stream started, it was 1-0. Apologies.

I think this year the central spine of the team is under performing - from central defenders, through central midfield and we dont score enough goals. Santi being injured is a big issue but were not some small time club that needs to rely one one player - or two for that matter

Yeah, I read an article the other day which pretty much agrees with my view. We would have been able to absorb Coq or Santi, but not both.

Santi's play was benefitted by always having Coq beside him, and another midfielder, Ramsey, as an outlet. The two times Santi had to play with Flamini instead of Coq, we played like crap.

Win tomorrow now is a must. It will be a tough game Bournemouth are no pushovers. Time for a few players to stand up and be counted.

Afobe will be trying to make a point as well. Should be interesting.

Like I said 1 month ago when Spurs were in 5th place....young squad great goal difference , good athletes and a consistent goalscorer....
Spurs are our biggest danger for the title.

alot came at me for it .

Hate to be proven right on this one.
Alot of people on this forum are so blinded by loyalty they wouldnt accept any criticism of Arsene, players etc... looks like here we go again

Spurs wont win the title though. If you had said "Threat for top 4" then perhaps but they wont win it.

Biggest danger for title is probably why people went at you. Definitely in the mix but not the team that I'm worried about most.

All this talk about the title for anyone is pretty premature. See what happens with 4-5 matches to go. We have been playing like rubbish for 3 months, spurs have been playing really well.....and they're essentially level with us.

It's just good to know we can improve a load. I feel that spurs are playing close to their potential, just like Leicester.

Yes indeed, but we need to pick up now and show what we are made of and realise our potential. We still have a chance and need to keep in touch with the top 3 and keep looking over our shoulder to at least in the top three at the end of the season.

We will beat that lecister team by two clear goals

That's my bet and I'm very confident of it coming in esp after seen them today

Just watching motd, City's defence is dire. Can't see them winning the league unless Kompany stays injury free for the rest of the season.

    Ours isn't much better though.

Ours isn't that bad really, it's scoring that has been our problem this season

    Stab at today's team

    Cech

    Bellerin. Gab. Kos. Monreal

    Elneny. Coq

    Ramsey. Ozil. Sanchez

    Walcott

Think we will see Ramsey in middle, Walcott on right and giroud up too though

I'd drop giroud purely to give him a rest and show him there is competition to his spot, he usually comes flying back when it's put up to him

Campbell is dropped he is doing through a dry patch and that's to be expected for a young lad after breaking through

Would love to see that team play, for multiple reasons.

Today is basically a cup final. Dont win today and we are left with just the FA Cup again this year. Hoping Flamini is nowhere near our starting 11.

    Yep.

Scenario 1: arsenal lose. They're bottlers, can't handle the pressure of needing to win etc etc. Meltdown.

Scenario 2: arsenal win. They only won because they're not top of the table and there's no pressure.

Scenario 3: arsenal draw. Probably some kind of meltdown.

Fair game if we dont win today imo. 5 games without a win, one league win in 2016 is not the stuff of champions/major challengers.

There is huge pressure on us to win today, anything other than 3 points will be a disaster. Bournemouth at home have been dogged and only lost 4 of their 11 home game which is not a bad return for a team tipped to go straight back down to the championship. They have been beaten twice by a 5-1 scoreline (at home to Spurs and at the Etihad) but other then that have been tough enough to break down. After 3 games without a goal il gladly take a 1 - 0 win but we could badly do with a performance where we dominate the game and put away some of the bucketload of chances we create. Theo if he's playing really needs to put in a decent shift and get a goal

Any team with aspirations for the title should be beating a team that has lost 4 out of 11.

We are in desperate need for a win with some tough matches ahead. I'm not expecting it to be easy but if we don't start refinding our form today. I fear it will be too late.

I often wonder why we let the likes of Afobe go, I think Wolves paid about 2 million for him, yet we persisted with Sanogo who clearly isnt much of a footballer.

A judgement call. Quite clearly the wrong one. Having said that Afobe may never have been good enough to lead the line for Arsenal.

Well look at him now banging goals regularly and getting his game in the bpl compared to Sanogo doing the square root of fúck all at Ajax

Very possibly, but it was quite obvious to everyone after watching Sanogo play once or twice that he wasnt much good. Afobe had been very highly rated as an up and coming player to watch out for. Just seems odd and in fairness there were a good few here that said it at the time that it was an bad call.
Sanogo didnt gain much from going to Ajax anyway, hardly featured at all, he's at Charlton now but hasnt made their bench yet (not sure if he's injured)
