Not spectacular bargains, but I imagine many folks will be looking for a heater this weather, as it were.

Challenge 1kW Mini Oil Filled Radiator was €58 now €36.

Challenge 1.6kW Halogen Heater was €65.49 now €36

Just in case anyones reading this, i wouldnt waste my time with halogen heaters or fan heaters.

Oil filled radiators are much more efficient and economical. Although the one in the link is quite small, you'd be better off spending 15 euro more on a 1.5kw or 2kw model.

Lidl and aldi do 2kw ones for about 60 euro from time to time.

With halogens you lose the heat in the room instantly as you turn it off, and you have to be sitting directly in line with it to feel the heat, they dont fill the room with heat.

Fan heaters are noisey. very power hungry and tend to dry out the Air in the room.

Oil filled radiators are great for filling the room with heat which stays around for a while after turning the off.

We've owned all 3 types at this stage, and oil filled radiators simply win hands down.

I don't know about the other two but these ones have a nasty "dry" heat.

I'd rather sit in the Cold.

Home Retail Group, which is valued at around £1bn at its current share price, has been mooted as a possible takeover target since it issued a profit warning in October, which it blamed on the impact of Black Friday shopping deals and investment in its online ordering system.

Woodies arent known well for bargains but they have better offers on oil filled radiators than argos do:

    http://www.woodiesdiy.com/action/searchsite/oil-filled-radiator

I have the DeVielle 1.5Kw about a year now in my converted attic and its great, really spreads the heat well like a normal radiator, except better as you can position it.

If youre frugal with energy expenses you can turn on a 600w or 900w setting also so its quite versatile.

The heat feels the same to me as a conventional radiator.

If you think the heat feels dry, wait til you try a fan heater.

Halogens seem a pretty efficient way of providing instant heat to bodies - without heating up the air as a fan heater does. Great for those that suffer with cold extremities/Raynaud's disease.

Battlefield 4 for PS3 and Xbox 360 is €2.99 in Argos at the moment.

I know there's a big difference in visuals between this and the ps4 version but at €3 I got it just to play the campaign.

Seems like a strange combination , on one side you have a super market with maximum floor space exposed to the customer and the other is a big warehouse with tiny floor space. How are they supposed to combine them, stick ps4s between the cornflakes ? Or maybe you can wait 5 minutes for somebody to fetch your cooked chicken for you.

Either way, Argos is the job, I'd hate to see it go, having a huge selection of random stuff along with decent prices is great when you cant wait the 3 days for the post.

    A Brazilion .... ??????

A lacky briefed the Taoiseach this morning. He told Enda that three Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq. To everyone’s amazement, all of the colour drained from Enda's face, then he collapsed onto his desk, head in hands, visibly shaken, almost whimpering. Finally, he composed himself and nervously asked his lackey to explain “How many millions in a brazillion?”….

Website seems to be full of bugs. A lot of the options that normally help narrow down a search are being displayed as numbers.

It looks like the prices have all gone up, think we'll have to wait for the next 'sale' before they become anywhere near normal again.

Stuff marked as half price is considerably cheaper elsewhere
