Cheers greendom..... As good as done so ;)

As expected Allardyce has said he will rest plenty of players at weekend.
I expect 15+ changes between both sides.

The Ox has been disappointing again this year, hard to know what will become of him. Is he on the verge of being excellent or way off it? I get the feeling it could all click for him but the longer it goes like this then it might not happen for him. Not even a goal this year, limited game time granted. He could be stuck on the bench for much of the rest of the season once Sanchez, Cazorla, Welbeck and Wilshere are back. Maybe a loan spell next year might be for the best.

Is Zealem coming back from Rangers this month? Would be for the best for him to stay on me thinks. Just looking there he seems to be out of the team, getting the odd few minutes towards the end. Is he still scrawny and lightweight?

Alan Brazil and John Hartson are on talksport now talking about rumours of Troy Deeney to Arsenal.

I have absolutely no idea where it came from as was only half listening.

Id like to see someone like a Troy Deeney get a chance at Arsenal.
Take a proven goal scorer and see if Arsenal with all their skills and magic can take advantage of a player in a rich vein of form in the PL.
He seems to have a good attitude and picks a pass as well as scores a few.

Was reading recently that SPurs have the youngest squad of ALL 92 teams in the leagues.
didnt someone say once ' You never win anything with kids ' .. and we all know how that turned out.

Arteta playing shortly for U21s against Blackburn. If he gets through ok could well be playing against Sunderland on Saturday.

    :(
Would even take Flamini ahead of him. Arteta is well passed it now at this level.
Was a great servant though in fairness.

His problem is that he always takes a few games to get back to his best after injury. Recently he's been getting injured again before he gets back to his best. Be pleased to see him line up against Sunderland on Saturday and see how he gets on, especially as so many players are being rested for that game.

Would be ideal to have him back for Sunderland.

He's been playing well but he's only got 6 goals in 19 appearances this season, would have thought Ighalo would be the one to go for if we were signing a Watford striker myself. No denying Deeney's record before this season is better than Ighalo's though and he has been brilliant despite not scoring a truck load. I'm sure I've heard some journo's argue Deeney is one of the main catalysts for Ighalo's form.

He was subbed at half-time. Not sure if that was the plan or not.

big time, spot on Deeney does a phenomenal amount of work, chasing defenders , contesting every ball, and Ighalo does benefit from that. Im not detracting from Ighalo, he deservs all his plaudits also.

Id just like to see how an up and coming PL striker would do in the arsenal side. We are a PL side, to some degree our style is dictated by playing in the PL. Ive watched the English First Division thru to the PL for 40 yars.
Deeneys a name doing the rounds, rather than the next French starlet Id just like to see a PL player get a shot at leading our line.

Go on Arsene spend 20 million just to see if my experiment would work.

Was reading up on Deeney a bit, interesting background to say the least, there has been a piece from his wiki page floating about facebook the last few days, I thought it was a piss take but it turns out its true

Deeney was invited for a four day summer trial at Aston Villa at the age of 15. Having joined Chelmsley Town, he was scouted by Walsall head of youth Mick Halsall, who only attended the game Deeney was playing in because his son was also playing and due to the game he was scheduled to attend being postponed. Deeney was playing while drunk, but scored seven goals in an 11–4 win. He was offered a trial by the then League Two club, but only attended after his Chelmsley manager got him out of bed and paid for his taxi.[4] After signing for Walsall on 18 December 2006, Deeney was instantly sent out to Halesowen Town on loan for the rest of the 2006–07 season

He was also jailed in 2012 for kicking someone in the head during a fight.

Theres the English grit arsenal have been lacking since Tony Adams left:)

We're not signing Troy Deeney anyway; he's not remotely good enough. The next striker we get has to be an upgrade on Giroud (easier said than done), not someone who's vastly inferior.

Reine Adelaide scored 2 and made the 3rd in the u21s 3 - 2 win against Blackburn. May well start on Saturday ?

I really, really hope he doesn't!! Benzema would be perfect, although Giroud better hide all his sex tapes.

Wouldn't say no to him either. Fuck it, we'll buy both. :D

Actually that shouldnt be so hard.
Theres regularly 5 or 6 strikers in the PL performing better than Giroud.
In fact since he has been at Arsenal, bar once, come end of season theres always been 5-6 strikers who have done as good if not better than him over the course of the season.
So im not sure where this myth about finding a striker better than Giroud comes from, the PL is and has been full of them.

I am actually afraid to list the players I think are better than him in case it causes a re-reg :pac:

I know and whats worse is he is even under-rated by the PL end of season Top Scorer chart and has been for years.
They should really base that Top Scorer chart not on the goals scored but on some random opinion.

3rd fastest player to 50 league goals in Arsenal's history after Henry & Wright and you're talking about him like he's Troy Deeney or someone.

Another one for you here. courtesy of @Orbinho

Minutes per goal in PL history

    Giroud 168.4
    Drogba 168.8

I see the Arsenal 'Stasi' are out in force

ze're vill be nein debate on ze Arsenal forum , anyvone exprezzing ein opinion vill be accussed of saying things zay never said. jawohl .

The other Arsenal strikers dehind him in the race to 50 were in sides that were not finishing consistently in the top 4.

Girouds a good striker, he misses bucket loads, get over it.
Id just like to see a striker who has been a proven goal machine at a lesser PL side get a chance in the Arsenal lineup and see if Wenger and Arsenal can make a gem stone diamond out off a rough diamond.

    You were saying? :pac:

They have a point, and they were debating with facts(!)
Higher goals per minute ratio than Drogba, 3rd fastest Arsenal striker to get to 50 goals.

He really isn't as bad as people are making out!

Facts and numbers are meaningless. You can make numbers fit any point you want to make.
Thats why policticians use them all the time, they can get a number to reflect anything they want to say.

Some of you produce a number that says Giroud is better than Drogba,
I produce a list of honours Drogba has won including 2 PL Golden boots.

Some of you produce a number that says Giroud is 3rd fastest Arsenal player to 50 goals,
I can produce a list that shows Giroud has never even gotten close to breaking 20 goals in a season.

Some of you produce a number that says Giroud is one of the top PL strikers
I can prodcue a list that shows Giroud currently sits behind 5 other PL players in the Top Scorer chart and has always done that in all his time at Arsenal.

Girouds a good striker, he deserves his place in the Arsenal squad, Id just
like to see another striker get a shot, Wenger has spent years building this team and before its broken up, wouldnt it be nice to see how another striker could get on there.
