The thing is that after Southampton, it's Leicester and someone, maybe Bmouth.

Then it's the run in as listed above.

I mean, get though these first four games and it'd be hard for someone to catch us. Obviously we'll slip up but from looking at the competition I can't see anyone putting together 10 straight victories or anything.

It's all about how Alexis comes back IMO.

All about Ozil too - need him to stay fit till the end of the season. We will struggle to create without him. Cech vital too of course!

The Stoke thing is funny though; our place is a veritable graveyard for them as much as theirs is for us - we've a 100% record against them since they came up.

Away to them we've only won once (and it came at some cost - the day Ramsey got Shawcrossed) the rest of our results read D2 and L4.

Actually reasonably confident we'll beat them due in part to the fact they're playing an extra game than us in the period which they'll have been gearing up for given its significance and the fact they're actually playing football now as opposed to hoofing it or using a Walters/Crouch type up front which we always struggle with.

Would be relatively confident we'll have Liverpool's number but I wouldn't underestimate their penchant for raising their game when they get sight of an Arsenal shirt & Klopps had Wenger's number a couple of times in the past.

Chelsea I would worry about; that Palace result could well kick them on and again past history means they'll probably raise it above phone it in level for us.

Think we'll pull 7 points out of it all the same. Need 5/6 minimum though if we harbour hopes of the title.

Got 5 points from those fixtures last season, really that's an absolute minimum we should be getting. 6 points and no losses wouldn't be the end of the world but we need to start kicking on to make it harder to choke later.

Everton, Palace, West Ham and Sunderland are City's next 4 matches.

If anything I can see us going into the City match a point ahead, get a draw and just need to beat Villa to win the title. :pac:

Who are you and what have you done with button!?

...I didn't say I expected us to actually beat Villa in that scenario.

Klopp has had Wenger's number, and I say this with utmost respect to Liverpool FC, but I think he had much better players to work with in the past - physical guys who play accurate football at a high tempo.

I think the squad he's inherited aren't capable of doing what he needs them to do.

That said, he's an excellent manager and will turn them around - just hopefully not this week.

Wenger has won 3, lost 2 and drew 1 against Klopp, so wouldnt say Klopp has his number at all.

Was just thinking that and klopp had a far better squad to work with At Dortmund than he has with Liverpool

After watching Southampton at the weekend, I'm still struggling to see how they beat us so badly.

    Strange result alright.

We have 5 wins and 1 loss from 6.
They have 1 win and 1 draw from 6

So Welbeck ahead of Walcott? Jesus.

    For me yes.
I don't like the idea of playing Giroud,Sanchez,Theo and Ozil all at the same time.

When Theo plays he doesn't play the wing. If you watch him he'll start moving beside Giroud while Monreal moves forward. This is great when on the attack but leaves us lacking on defence.

A formation like this has a much better shape.

    Giroud

    Sanchez Ozil Welbeck

    Ramsey Flam

Danny actually tracks back too put a shift in defence. Yeah he's not as good in front of goal but that's Sanchez's job when he comes back.
It's the same reason i want Campbell starting over Theo when Sanchez comes back.

Theo's best position Is RW he scores and creates from there, we can't rely on Sanchez to score our goals and when Giroud Is off his game we need them from somewhere.

I do completely understand your reasoning but for me Welbeck shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI and Campbell has looked promising as of late so If I was going to play anyone RW instead of Theo It would be him.

For balance sake i keep Theo on the bench. Campbell/Welbeck for me just for the simple reason they track back.

We have so many attackers playing at once it really leaves us open.

    Giroud
    Ozil
    Sanchez
    Theo
    Ramsey

That would leave just Flam holding the midfield. Now if you want to start Theo as our Striker that's fine.. But if it's on the wing i pick Campbell/Welbeck.

Yeah that's fair enough man I'm sure a lot would agree too. At the moment we are lacking striking options and natural (decent) wingers along with the hole In DM so they all factor In.

Theo has worked for many years out wide right I don't see why It's only an issue now tho. I would personally like to see Sanchez
    Giroud
    Wally

Ox can cover for Sanchez Welbz for Giroud and Campbell for Walcott.

Theo did very well at striker before he got injured earlier in the season, he had gotten ahead of Giroud in the pecking order.

Meh, I thought he was so so. As for the pecking order, I probably could have gotten ahead of Giroud during that spell :pac:

Strange in context of form I guess but not that strange in that we haven't beaten them away since they got back into the PL. It's why I still don't expect us to win at Stoke or Old Trafford (or Stamford Bridge earlier in the season where the same thing happened) regardless of either team's form.

What do we make of it? Özil's idol is now the manager of Özil's former club. Should we be concerned? :pac:

Rafa to Real Madrid was always a hard one to figure out, he wont care, he's probably due a huge settlement now anyway

I have issues around the mentality of the team when we visit those places.
They should be better psyched up and have a good game-plan.
This i blame on the manager. We are too easily rolled over and at this stage with the experience of the team and manager this shouldn't happen continually.

After the Villa match I posted about average positions (sick I can't find the link handy) and despite perceptions Walcott was nice and far back. He was behind Bellerin (full-back on the other side) and Ramsey in C/DM, and just ahead of Monreal. A quick look at the Bournemouth match and he was tucked in level with Ramsey. And against City he basically played as a midfielder with Monreal doing most of the wide, attacking stuff. http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/959688/MatchReport

Perception-wise I'd agree with you but there's 3 recent matches we won where Walcott certainly didn't neglect defensive duties.

What was so so about Walcott up front? Scored, created and contributed to plenty of goals. Was praised by everyone even his doubters.

Have to say when I usually see 4/5 pages of activity I tend to scan quickly and it's never worth a read. Not today gentleman finished off my cup of tea before bed with an excellent read!

Telegraph reporting Gnabry will be recalled from his loan spell apparently. Well thank fook for that! Why on earth should we loan them Debuchy after that woeful loan spell?

Don't know what happened with Gnabry there maybe there was a clash of personalities, playing styles could be a big factor or hopefully it ain't right but Gnabry is nowhere near the player who had bags of potential before his injury.

He will be loaned straight back out though hopefully to a team were he will get game time. It might feel like hes been around years but he's still only twenty so lots of time for him yet to make his mark at Arsenal.

Woke up early this morning and nothing to do. Flick on the box and Arsenal v United at Highbury in 2001 is on. Nice one.

Alan Brazil and John Hartson are on talksport now talking about rumours of Troy Deeney to Arsenal.

I have absolutely no idea where it came from as was only half listening.
