Travelling out 10am on new years day...
    SSE 32 km/h
    Gusts: 46 km/h
Would the preferred runway be 16 there.

Hmm that's 20kts of a gust, not that much. 16 is preferred based on wind direction, but 10 would be on operations.

SSE is around 130 degrees, its in between for both RWY 16 or 10, with a 22kt gust forecast you could very well be lucky

EDIT : sorry I only realised I put in the SE direction of 130.
SSE ranges from around 150 - 165 with the middle line being around 157, its more in favour for RWY16 but DUB are known for holding off on it until it gets messy

    That's ESE, SSE is around 140-160 and S 170-190.

Looking at a breakdown of the forecast the winds pick towards lunchtime & the afternoon. Flight is around 10am.

Your best bet is to check the TAF nearer your departure.

Speaking of TAF's, its forecast for tomorrow isn't too friendly!

Quick summary below : (On mobile so cant copy and paste coded version.)

    Dublin
    BECMG 1pm-3pm 160 degrees (SSE) 25kts G 40kts.
    BECMG 5pm-8pm 160 degrees (SSE) 28kts G 46kts

Complete headwind to RWY16, so shouldn't cause too many problems. Maybe causing a few departure/arrival delays.

    Cork
    BECMG 8am-11am 180 degrees (S) 22kts G 37kts
    BECMG 11am-2pm 180 degrees (S) 27kts G 47kts
    TEMPO 2pm-10pm 180 degrees (S) 32kts G 52kts.

Almost complete headwind, but with a gust of 52kts it may throw the stobarts around a bit. Everything else should be fine, maybe the odd go-around if wind gusts or windshear is present.

    Shannon

    BECMG 9am-12pm 150 degrees (SSE) 25kts G 35kts
    BECMG 12pm-2pm 160 degrees (SSE) 30kts G 45kts
    TEMPO 3pm-8pm 160 degrees (SSE) 33kts G 51kts
    BECMG 9pm-12am 190 degrees (S) 25kts G 40kts

Disruption likely tomorrow. Between midday and 9pm diversions are likely in my opinion, as its an almost complete crosswind to RWY24. The stobart due at 18:15 is almost guaranteed not to land, as 45-51kts of a crosswind is out of limits, wet or dry runway.

    Knock

    BECMG 9am-12pm 160 degrees (SSE) 20kts G 32kts
    BECMG 12pm-3pm 160 degrees (SSE) 27kts G 47kts
    TEMPO 3pm-9pm 160 degrees (SSE) 30kts G 50kts

Before midday, in which all 3 ryanair flights land, I'd say they have a good chance. After midday theres EI911 scheduled for 14:15, which I can't see making an approach with those winds. They favour RWY09 ever so slightly so a non ILS approach, with a strong crosswind component.

EI911 isn't going to try to get to Knock, operating Gatwick-Dublin instead.

EI385 (A320) (16:45) and EI3639 (ATR72-600) (18:15) also cancelled from SNN today against the anticipated winds. Will be interesting to see if FR1183 makes it at 14:40.

The Aer Lingus website has no mention of this diversion yet. Has it currently en route and landing at 14:16Z. They'd want to update it fairly lively. No way it will be getting into Knock if the winds do what they are forecast in the next hour. Currently 31-kt crosswind gusts.

It was updated as operating to Dublin before its departure from Gatwick.

Not on their live flight status it wasn't. Still saying Gatwick-Knock, no mention of a diversion.

It says Gatwick-Knock is en route but in the box below that it says Gatwick-Dublin and the flight times for it

    20,000ft now descending for DUB.

Oops, so it does. Still, a mention of a diversion would make it more obvious. I've been looking at it for 20 mins and didn't see the Dublin dropdown box (ok, my fault, but still...)

General traffic using 16, it's just a few heavies (And a 757 to YYZ) using the longer 10.

Wind just 21 knots at Knock at 2 pm.

I'm up here at the Naul Rd end of RWY16. There are so many people out spotting here that you'd swear something valuable was being given away free! Clearly this is one preoccupation that bad weather brings, out the crowds..!

Ethiopian Dreamliner from LAX on the way to land in the next hour.

Yes and unfortunately an awful lot of them show zero regard for other road users (very poor parking, parking on the bends, parking on the main road obstructing traffic)and for their own safety when getting in and out of their cars and when crossing the road.

Rest assured that this gent is not one of them! Car well off road with side lights on, plus a hi viz vest for good measure. But you're right, there are a few careless souls among them, not to mention those who leave by pulling straight out with no lights on and / or not using their mirrors...
