One for the gamers here, in particular PS4-heads.

Got a PS4 a month or two back, but only last week decided to get a voucher for PS Plus. The problem: I'm now living in London, and since my account was originally registered in Ireland, I can't redeem the feckin' voucher.

So, apparently the Playstation back end is so shìte that you can't change your country, so to set up my subscription I'll have to create a new, UK account. My question is: what will I lose by changing accounts? Are all my save files on the machine regardless of which account I'll be using?

You will still have access to all your saves on your Irish account.
You lose access to all PS+ free games.
Anything you purchased will also still be available.

You can also use your Irish account online, as your new UK PS+ covers online for all accounts on the console.

Does any of you play FIFA on PS4?

I play a bit, late at night usually, wouldn't mind trying out new tactics with one of you :)

Quick gambling question.... I need the Broncos to win by more than 7 for a 4 legged accumulator to come in, providing the Seahawks don't pull this outta the fire.

In order to cover / hedge this bet I should put money on the steelers +7.5 and I'm guaranteed a payout... Correct?

    Yup.

Cheers, been running through loads of permutations in my head and ended up tying myself in knots.

Fcuk it anyway, Broncos by 7 exactly. Odds on Steelers +6.5 were so bad (8/13) i'd have had to put a big chunk on it and wasn't really worthwhile. Ah well.

Finally able to connect to the forum. Looks like France is an hostile place for boards. There were attacks from it during the last RWC and everytime there's a crash on the forum, it's taking a lot more time to be back to normal down here.
Anyway, is it me or there's been quite a lot of "succesful" attacks on the forum lately. I've the feeling there were none for several years and all of a sudden we experienced plenty of them in the last months. Did boards make enemies :p?

I don't know what's more impressive. The poster of Mick or the fact that they referred to their house as "ones house".... ðŸ˜႒

It is very slow, but working.

Are you posting from France by any chance?

Maybe they locked you out :)

Very slow to load pages on mobile but otherwise ok.

The forum being down makes you realise you actually have NO friends who are serious about FPL.

    @iroced

Did you get the site displaying properly in the end?

I had the same issues as you. This post from the feedback forum sorted it for me.

Press f12 on chrome, then red x in pop-up and you'll see URLs of pages that didn't load. Look for one with 'bstatic' in url, right click one of these URLs and click open in new tab. You will be prompted for captcha, once u enter it and try boards.ie again it will display correctly

If you use Firefox, you can get that list of bstatic URLs by going to Tools --> Page Info. They're listed under the "Media" tab.

Oh ok. Dav the community manager said they are working on it and it's the highest priority for them right now so I'm sure it'll be fixed in the very near future.

Ah right cool. Not taking away from any of the hard work im sure has gone in to getting the site back up. Fair play to all involved im sure they have been sick to the tits themselves dealing with the attack! Clearly some folks out there have anger quit FPL already this season and though this was a reasonable way to get revenge on the community :pac:

Have any of the good FSA folk had the privilege of having to visit one of these new NDLS places yet?

Some people say it's a disaster of a place while others say the opposite!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭iroced

@ greedygoblin. Nope it's actually gone worse. Tried to connect from a different computer and got locked out of my account (for apparently too many loging errors with my password - only tried once though...). Never received the e-mail to reset the password.

Back on my laptop here where I was already connected it's working.

I was in one last July. Hell on Earth!

I was in the one in Portlaoise Shopping Centre and to say it was a farce would be an understatement. There was 12 people ahead of me with only one guy working, he was of Asian descent and his English was terrible. Each renewal took about 20 minutes so I was stuck there for a good 3 and a half hours.

Thank God I won't have to step foot inside one for another 10 years!

I've both good and bad experiences so far this year. Had a booking early in January and went in only to be told I was missing an eyesight report form. I asked where I would get one of those and she tutted and said "online", like I was soft in the head. As I was leaving, I was waiting on the lift and looked back into the centre and there was a whole wall of those forms (and others).

Second time around, no prior booking and showed up at half three (they shut at 5). You 'take a number' by registering on a tablet in the corner, but this was not working for some reason. Just an old man in front of me, but place starts filling up. After 45 mins your one comes out to see why there's loads of punters but no names. Tries to get everyone in order but, as usual, those who make the most noise get sorted. Old man gets shafted, and when I made it clear to your one she bailed back behind the hatch.

3rd time lucky, up there early and in and out in 15 mins. My advice is to book if you can wait however long your local centre is booked out for. Otherwise get up there at 9 some morning, they're even open Saturdays. Make sure you have all your **** in order as well. The forms say to have copies of everything but they never asked for any of that crap.

Proof of address (dated less than 6 months ago) and pps number. Letter from revenue is good for both of these.
Theory test results, if first license
Garda stamp, if you lost your last license
    Form
    €35
    Eyesight report, if necessary

    Best of luck

I've been in the one in Carlow 2-3 times and only really have good experiences. Register on the tablet in the corner and it tells you to a fair degree of accuracy how long you'll be which is good got seen within an hour each time and one time it was quiet in about 15 mins.

That's a bit of a pain alright. I was locked out of my account for a while a couple of days ago. Several password resets failed to fix it. I left it and eventually was able to log in again the following day. You're not alone going by the feedback forum. Lots of people still having problems. Hopefully the boards hamsters can get on top of things soon.
