    I'd take him back tomorrow.

Why take a player back we don't need! If we are going to spend the money on a new player I'd rather one that addresses the actual needs of the team.

Didn't we start the last game with Flamini in central midfield?

He was DM in fairness..... Would get walked over on Monday with Ramsey and Fabregas in there and Ozil ahead of them

We would crush anyone who came near us with that midfield!

No no no, we'd get overrun with to many men to far forward. A legitimate DM to compete with Coq is with we need for midfield.
Don't want Fabregas near the team!

We would be killed time and time again on the counter.

    This is what we need.

Fabregas wouldn't get his game. Ozil is the front runner for his position and if he is out we have other options who would be ahead of Cesc. Unless Cesc wants the position of kit boy I don't see him fitting into the team anymore.

Once his Catalan DNA activated he lost his chance to come back in Arsenal colours (well that and Wenger getting his mitts on Ozil :D)

Why do players like Coquelin exist if you think that would work!?

Jeez, just as well I'm not manager!

I reckon Rambo and Cesc would manage it between them, as long as they were clever about it.

    Just saying.

No Kompany for the match on monday, that's a big plus for us!
    Aguero back though

Have you seen Fabregas play lately ? The guy hardly ever tracks back and just lets runners go time and time again it's unreal. Playing him as a deep lying midfielder is just plain suicide.

Better no Kompany than no Aguero, City are porous without him. I expect it will be our old muckers Sagna and Clichy in the corners for them, Kolarov is too loose.

I doubt Aguero is 100% match fit though. If he starts he'll be subbed early or they will bring him on in the 2nd half. Bear in mind we may have Alexis on the bench as well. Big game this, looking forward to it!

Cesc reminds me a bit of Lady Gaga- lots of natural talent, impressive start, but more lukewarm of late, with few hits

Massive massive game. Win it and I'll start to believe. We're more than capable too.

If we win - we can win the league
If we lose - we don't realistically have a shot
    Draw- ????

    (IMHO)

TBH given the way this season has gone and how erratic City are no matter what the result the League is still wide open.

This is so true..... We have 3 very winnable games after Monday over Christmas period so its equally as important to play to our potential in them.

We are not even half-way through the season as yet. There will be many twists and turns before we are out of it. Obviously we need to win as many as we can as soon as we can.

We can't afford to lose in my opinion. A draw wouldn't be the end of the world. Obviously i want the win though, I think we'll win by 2!

I think a win this weekend would make a statement and it's technically a 6 pointer so I'd be gutted with anything less than 3 points. I reckon we can do it, be delighted if Alexis can make an appearance.

What do people make of the guardiola to arsenal in 2017 news. Was just reading GMS, I know I know, saying that he's prepared to take a year sabbatical or another year at Bayern if he's assured that he'll get the nod. IMO he is the best suited manager I've heard of to take over the role.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,477 ✭✭✭newbie2

    where's this news coming from?

I'm presuming he'll go to either chelski (after hiddink's interim bit) or Xity. i did hear he wanted out Bayern.

Dunno if he's the best placed person to take over, but i still firmly believe, that someone should and the sooner, the better.

I like the idea. He would only agree to join if he were to get assurances on the kind of budget he would have. His arrival would be a sure sign that Arsenal were back at the top table. A great manager to take on Arsene's mantle.

Probably the best manager to take over after Wenger.
My only issue would be how he is with injuries. Wenger is nothing compared to Pep when it comes to over paying players.

Problem with Pep replacing Wenger is he doesn't stay around long who do you bring in that can realisitclly follow both of them ?

I'd imagine Arsenal are the club Pep Guardiola is waiting for. He'll walk into a team with his own playing style, and wants to move to London.

I hope Roman can cover all Pep's supplements

Was reading givemesport but have just seen they were rewording a daily mail thing. There goes that anyway
