Reus even though very good, looks like would have been accompanying Rosicky, Wilshere and Welbz on the treatment table had we got him...

High-flying Borussia Dortmund must do without Marco Reus for the rest of 2015 as the Germany winger has a groin injury.

Reus limped off just before half-time in Sunday's 4-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

It's the third time this calendar year that the 26-year-old has been out with a groin injury. - BBC Sport.

Must go back and dig out the posts around the time we signed Welbeck :p Never did get sorted with the bet I made on here either.

was it something positive and uplifting ? ;)

If there is a silver lining to the Welbeck story, it means that Wenger absolutely has to buy an attacking player in January. This will mean we will have a pretty decent array of attackers available in the tail end of the season.

This is assuming we don't pick up a load more injuries, of course :P

I'm not sure he will unless to quote the man himself ' top class ' player becomes available. I also not seeing him as a big loss, he can do a job but I don't think he's first team material, I even think Campbell has overtaking him in the pecking order.

Surely Vardy is worth a punt, provided a 30m+ price tag isn't suddenly assigned to him

With the current run Leicester are on, why would they sell him? They could very well make the champions league and get a nice bit of cash that way, rather than selling players

He's English and in an incredible run of form, doubt that they would consider anything less than 30 million tbh

Vardy is just another one season wonder that'll be average/decent next year.
    Mahrez on the other hand..

You'd be looking at £25M for Vardy given his age. Its not worth it imo.

    Marhez would be ideal

Shame about Welbeck, I'm in the minority here but I really like him. I expected him to be out no.1 striker this year

Hope he gets some playing time this season but I wouldn't expect much from him

As much as I like Arsenal collecting real footballers and Mahrez looking a good fit, I think it would be just wrong if Leicester got raided in January. I really hope they will resist and that doesn't happen. Let them have an honest shot at it. Its the stuff dreams are made of after all. I don't think we want to take that away from football.

    Well said.

(But I still think if we have no injuries (ha!) Even with no new additions, we should win it.)

The way Chelsea are going i woudn't mind Matic.
Yeah he's been poor enough this year, but i believe he be back to his best in our midfield.

Do that buddy, you were saying balotelli would have been a better signing! :D

I think Wenger could have got more out of him than he has from Welbeck.

Thankfully we'll never be sure. I think balo is to difficult to manage whereas welbeck has been a useful player for us before the injury and is a popular member of the squad. And he shouted to put out United during our run to last years cup.
    I like him anyway

Balotelli can be great when managed properly, and who better to do that than Arsene? He just looked very poor playing Rodge ball imo.

Welbeck when managed properly hasn't been great, an extremely likeable player but just hasn't a finish in him

I find it so ironic how people's opinions of Giroud have changed so dramatically over the last few weeks. On the Arsenal Facebook page, lots of the comments were focussed on how Giroud should be out of this team immediately and the likes. Now everyone thinks he's the third coming of Christ! I'm glad a handful of us in here never doubted the talent of Giroud and he's finally getting the goals to back that up.

Ya but the next game where he has a mare he'll no longer be good enough.

It'll be very interesting to see if he can break 20 League goals. If he does, we win the league and the doubters (I am one.) will be silenced

That's the average fan for you.
As far as i'm concerned he's a very good forward but is also incredible patchy. He'll have 3 brilliant games and then have an absolute stinker and won't score for 4 weeks.

I believe that opinion is shared by the majority here.

He can be upgraded on but with Walcott showing decent ability as a forward we have 2 very different options to rely on which is fine as long as both keep performing.

Anyone think Olly should take over penalty duties?

if he can score and perform until end of jan, then he has stepped up. he could easily do **** all during the xmas period

Giroud scored 1 from 5 for Arsenal. Santi is 1 from 7.

No big difference really. Olly is probably better for them at the moment regardless of Santi's injury because he's confident in front of goal right now. He has those runs of not scoring though and I'd wonder would he be as good from the spot when things aren't going his way.

Jaysus I could do better than that ;)

He will certainly be the penalty take for the forseeable and took the two in the last week very confidently.

I think you may have mixed up scoring and missing there!!! Unless I have been drunk and missed a lot of missed penalties!

Balotelli in London with all it's distractions. Are you f***ing mad?

    Hey you guys,

Dynamo match was great! Mr Ramsey seems to be the favourite with the GG.

    Isn't Olivier on fire!!!

We are 2nd in league, we are 2nd in the league!

It has all the makings of a complete disaster alright.

Pity Chelsea didnt sign him in the summer to add to the fun and games there :D

No. Just no. That's some revisionism. Balotelli is a loose cannon. He'd upset the dressing room. Best avoided. Welbeck has done what was asked of him tbf

So if Arsene gets a call from Roman next month and says "Arsene mon ami, I have another great deal for you.... Fabregas for 10m"

    Whats the reply?

From my layman's point of view now I'd say no, his legs look gone. Would've been handy last year but we thankfully seem to be playing more counter-attacking/fast stuff this year so I don't see where he'd fit.

Ah we could do with him for cup games and the likes ;)

I'm happier that cesc is where he is playing how he's playing.
