    Some are "handier" than others!

Delighted with tonight, Campbell yet again proving the doubters wrong. Great result, great night to be a Gooner!

Hopefully we can keep up this little run we're on and smoke Villa on the weekend. It'd be great to be top by Christmas..

Delighted with the win. Didn't get to watch the match properly, had to leg it into the nearest pub after work, the Horse Show House (which has been done up mad swanky since the last time I was in it) where they had the match on in a corner with no sound. That said great win and hopefully the hat-trick from Giroud will give him the confidence to kick on. Now would getting past the last 16 be too much to ask? One thing at a time I suppose ;)

    Thrilled!

Campbell's footwork for his assist was top class.

    Well done lad.

Delighted to be proven wrong tonight. Superb win and we showed we can get the bit between the teeth when we want to.

Absolutely buzzing after that match tonight. We had to weather a bit of a storm early on but we didn't look in too much danger. Obviously Giroud was class and was clinical in taking the majority of his chances, something I have criticised him on before. Special mention to Joel Campbell, what a ball for the second goal, was Ozilesque! It's good to see him step up while getting a chance. I think he looked pretty good on the right hand side coming in on his left.

Delighted we are through, I get the impression that the majority of the soccer forum wanted us to get knocked out. Interesting to see now who we get in the draw and hopefully by February we will have a good few players back.

    Being positive enough tbf.

Brady was on guard tonight so they were on their best behaviour :D. In fairness Hamann is normally a common sense pundit and Dunph was fairly quietened earlier on.

I'd be happy with Real aswell to be honest, We've taken them before and there not exactly brilliant either

2006 is a world away in fairness Brian. That said i wouldn't be scared of Real and i think we are capable of raising our game against the big boys. Given a choice id prefer Real then Atletico to be honest and definately avoid Barca

What's the story with Campbells contract? Is he likely to be here next season? Really impressive recently. Overtaken Ox.

His contract expires in June according to transfermarkt. Com

In regards to the draw, I'd be relatively happy with any bar Barcelona or Real Madrid. In the knockouts anything can happen, I know we haven't won the trophy before, but getting out of the group stages for 15 years straight is still impressive considering, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool have all fallen at that stage in recent seasons.

Would love to win it just to get the monkey off our back. But my expectations every season in Europe is to get into the knockout stages and see what happens from there, so in that regard I'm happy.

Delighted, we showed real composure to get out of that group, I know it's early days but not to have bottled gives me a real sense that the team is mentally strong.

Anyway with a bit of luck we get zenit or wolfsburg in the next round.

    That was enjoyable.

Giroud redeemed himself after his Zagreb idiocy.

In January '15 he had 18 months left on his contract but he signed an extension just prior to going on loan to Villareal. Not sure how long as club never stated length but guess minimum 12 months so he will have minimum 18 months left on it out to June 2017.

Personally I wouldnt have Campbell anywhere near the first team if possible although if we had a few players back I wouldnt object to Giroud returning to the bench for a spell.

    Emmmmmm :o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o

Glad I wasnt picking the team last night boys :pac:

As enjoyable & comfortable a performance I can remember for quite some time.

Obviously Campbell & Giroud will get the plaudits (loved the header for the first in particular) but I have to say as a former full back myself Monreal is pure class... he brings an assurance to the role that Gibbs simply cant match, I sincerely hope he stays with the club for a long long time.

Would love Wolfsburg in the next round, though we all said something similar last year with Monaco & we all know how that panned out I feel this team is less brittle & at the moment seems less likely to crack under pressure & playing them or Zenit would be a bonus, sods law we'll get Barca again though, but even if we do I'd not be as despondent as I would have been in the past, this team when on form is a match for anyone & between now & February anything can happen.

Theres not that many "soft draws" to be had really. Zenit were really impressive and strolled through the group with ease, we shouldnt be looking for a handy draw anyway, if you want to be the best then you have to beat the best

B*llocks to that.... I would be perfectly happy beating Zenit in next round, Wolfsburg in quarters, City in semis and Chelsea in the final :)

Zenit lost to Gent the other night, so I don't fear them very much.

Only downside about drawing them, if it happens, is the team having to travel to Russia midweek.
