Been that price for years. The 48s are often cheaper per unit

72 is a huge box. Its the tiny boxes of lucky charms for that price which is crazy.

mysupermarket.co.uk shows the 72 pack is around €8 in the UK.

72 (3x24pack) of tesco own brand is €6.87.

Shame that most of the other supermarkets here seem scared to openly disclose their prices online

What price are the Aldi/Lidl equivalents?

Dunnes & Tesco own brand are the same as Weetabix imho
    Read the nutritional guide

also the Tesco Wheat Biscuits 48pk were €3.29
I assume that pack size is discontinued

I have no idea, that's the problem, you can't just look things up.

There is an ongoing "tesco bargains" thread in bargain alerts, partly because you can check out prices online.

Some others will have threads like "aldi super 6", but its occasional, and only declaring a handful of items on offer.

Tesco is good since you can search solely for offers, ideal for some one like me with little brand loyalty and not a fussy eater/buyer. However tesco have pulled some offers early lately, they would say a start & end date but offers have just vanished well before the end date. I was wondering if this was since people were buying them up using lidl/aldi/dunnes vouchers.

2.09 for 24 both, as are the "Marshalls" ones Tesco sells that are actually made by Weetabix Ltd.

I don't eat them but my partner does, and suspects that all the clones are the same product made by Weetabix Ltd. Tastes the same but is harder to wash the residue off bowls somehow  (that bit I can confirm)

Oral B Complete toothpaste started at about €2.80 in about 2013...went to €3.50, €4.20 & now it is €5.20.... Now I know it goes on 3/2 or 33%off so never pay full price but current price ( hasn't been on offer recently so time to restock can't be far off) is a joke at this stage when Colgate is €2.90 for larger tube.

most of the UK supermarkets are £3.99 (€5.60) for it, but there is a basic Oral B toothpaste at about €2

Boots are €5.79, Dunners are €5.29, so possibly its the manufacturer and the fact that formulations have changed that has led to price changes? - But sure isn't it easy to blame the big UK supermarket?

Companies manufacturing toiletries price into their prices regular half price or 3 for 2 promos - doesn't matter whether tits dunnes, tesco or supervalu.

Unless you really don't mind over-paying, when it comes to toiletries, washing powders, conditioners etc, only buy when on offer - if its not on offer this week, it will be fairly soon. (if not, switch to the brand that is on offer)

Im sure they are all the same, i eat the Lidl ones and they taste no different to Wheetabix, i quite like them and also the savings are huge.

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means

Aren't Tesco perfectly allowed to raise, lower, inflate, deflate prices as they please? You don't have to shop there!

I think the problem is them raising prices and then lowering them saying it's a great offer.

Tesco have got rid of so many lines and entire categories now that they are in danger of losing customers!
Some tinned fruit, tinned meat, grated cheese, dried milk, sauces etc etc have disappeared. These inexpensive products are still available in Tesco UK.
I went into Supervalu today for the first time in about a year to get stuff.

+1, there are a few items I can no longer get, and it was not like they took up much room. I see new items which do not appear to be shifting and I expect them not to.

I wish there was a comments box where you could ask for stuff to be got back. I would not bother saying it to the disinterested & disgruntled staff as I think it would be in one ear and out the next.

I have been getting regular groceries in dealz, which used to be just sweets & tat for me before.

you might get this in some asian supermarkets.

    T Cod Liver Oil 550Mg 90 €0.79 have disappeared.
T Cod Liver Oil 1000Mg 30 €1.59 is the next available.

Costs five times more now to buy the same product! However, I think the former was quite cheap.

Just looked at some stuff from my Tesco basket in Oct 14 and Oct 15
    T V Clear Honey 340G was €1.49 now €1.64
T Natural Sweetcorn In Water 325G was €0.85 now €0.54
    T Basmati Rice 1Kg was €2.26 now €1.39
T Pineapple Slices In Natural Juice 432G was €0.66 now €1.32
    T Vegetable Soup 400G was €0.59 now €0.49
T Top Down Squeezy Bbq Sauce 480G was €1.35 now €0.93
    T Sweetcorn 1Kg was €2.05 now €1.72
Fairy Nonbio Washing Powder 2.6Kg was €16.19 now €19.49

You can clearly see the Aldi&Lidl effect, whereupon T generic brand has fallen in price (except the pineapple which has doubled)

Now went up to 5.69. A 16% increase in less than 6 months. The price of the capsules has not changed online at dolcegusto.ie (4.87) in the same timeframe, so just Tesco being greedy.

This was one of the only reason I was still going to Tesco, now completely switched to Lidl/Aldi and ordering capsules online.

I saw that recently and wondered if it was a misprice. I did a search and found it was a lot cheaper than offies. I only bought it in pubs before at quite a high price.

It is 6% and usually costs more than others due to this.

That's a clever way of re-marketing the product, price still works out the same but being sold in a different manner. Be interesting to see the sales figures off the back of that.

Bet they sell more at the 6 for 5 than people buying 3/4 bottles at a time.

Nestle Almond Oats & More cereal increased in price this week from an already-outrageous €4.29 for 425g to €4.89, a 14% increase.

UK price is £2.49 (€3.45). So the previous 24% markup relative to the UK wasn't enough: apparently they "need" 40% more for this product here than in the UK. And they used to sell a 600g box for €4.69 but stopped carrying it (no doubt the profit margins weren't outrageous enough).

This week saw a lot of remarkable price rises at Tesco: Finest Maple Syrup went from €6.99 to €7.99, also a 14% increase. I noticed several others but didn't note them down.

Tesco's 'fresh' stonebaked pizzas were "permanently" reduced ages ago, to between 1.49 and 1.79 (green box, in the fridge rather than a freezer).

Now 3.99, with one particular one on 'sale' for 2 euro :pac:
